PP fees

Not sure why they do that.
Seems they would add all the appropriate fees & then post a FINAL price,
MANY good members will not respond to or even view threads with
comments such as “add a %”
or “add 3.5%” yet they still don’t get it...

To me, that is just laziness. I am asking more about the 3.5% vs 2.9% that PP acually charges for using G&S. Yeh they add on $0.30 per transaction, but on a $100 item that extra .6% is way more that $0.30.

Just as you said, I straight up ignore posts for both reasons. Maybe someday they'll get the hint.

Are sellers asking 3.5% on top to use PP G&S just being dooshbags, or is there something I'm missing?
Complete Doodhbags! Maybe Lazy Dooahbags Too!:D I never do any biz with arses that want to try to screw PP...PayPal provides a service, Pay up or tell people to send a Money Order! Cheap arses! Plus the buyer can be screwed by not paying through Goods & Services with no recourse!:(

3 possibilities
1. copy catting ads-very likely. They haven't read the PP agreement or even know what the exact fees are.
2. sold cheap items when they started out where 2.9% +$.30 came out to 3.5% or more
3. Hopefully not so cheap that they want to make a buck on the fee end, but can't rule it out if they are that worried about PP fees in the 1st place.
solution-inclusive price with PP fees and shipping added in.
Foreign sellers have a different scale for fees , so their ads will reflect this.

PayPal charges fees. We all know this.

If you are selling, just give a price - add the fees and shipping into the price if you don't intend on paying them out of your end. I hate that "add 4%" or "net to me" nonsense.

I always give a price and say "All in TYD CONUS, PayPal Goods." No math required.

paypal fees are pretty high, but paypal does provide a useful service to allow strangers to buy and sell quickly with some confidence.

i guess a seller can try and sell on condition buyer agrees to send postal money orders? will buyer be upset to learn of USPS money order purchase fee?

I dont really get why someone believes asking 100 for a knife is ok, but asking $96.62 plus Paypal 3.5 percent for some reason is wrong? seems the same to me, and I dont like math.

I am wary of people who demand friends and family paypal, when no friendship or family connection exists, in an obvious effort to avoid Paypals sale of goods fees and rules. that seems shady to me.

Just mail a check?! who pays for the stamp? buyer or seller?

What if someone adds a shipping fee? is that being a cheapskate?

Typical knife for sale ad in near future:

"Rare Lime Ebony Eagle Feather Antler GBC slip joint for sale, $x,xxx dollars if sold in cash within a 5 mile radius of sellers zipcode, shipping extra, insurance extra, risk of loss on buyer, itemized list of additional fees available upon request. Serious inquiries ONLy!"

While maybe not the worst offence, it is against PP rules as stated in the agreement. Fees are supposed to be assumed by the seller not the buyer. If asked G&S +correct fees it likely isn't a problem to PP if they get their money and neither party has a gripe. The bigger problem is that +fees is often used to move the buyer to F&F which is a problem on many levels.
One price shipped solves this problem and no one knows or cares what % of that price you added for PP fees.
I put little consideration to PP fees or shipping when selling. I am not running a business. I just try to price what I think is fair and leave it at that.
