PP fees

I agree, plus his for sale post did not mention NET or any fees whatsoever. As a buyer, I saw the price, tried to haggle, but he did not budge. I then replied via PM that I would pay his asking price of $1000 GOODS AND SERVICES. Even added $14 as a gesture of good will. He then gave me the UPS shipping details and I thanked him for the update. Then I get a new message from him saying he only received $969.08. Which was fair enough. But he proceeded to lecture me about being new in the knife community etc.... which I couldn't stand, so I asked for a refund instead. Then he said paypal has my $30.92, which is the time I realized there was no point in explaining to him that a full refund is actually possible. I just gave in and sent the additional $30.92 to be over and done with the transaction. Anyway, will get home soon, and hopefully the enjoyment of the newly acquired knife will overshadow his lecture to me. LOL

I think you could have won and gotten refunded and it certainly would be good to see people like that get a lesson it probably wouldn't have been worth the effort other than for teaching the seller.

I’m often surprised when people know even less than I do about PayPal! Same theme of seller misunderstanding canceled sales:

I purchase a refurbished laptop that came with a 1 mo warranty. It went directly to the seller’s friend for operating system/software installation.

The computer was so unstable that it wouldn’t run for more than 24 hours at a stretch. After 1 week and numerous attempts to repair, I was informed that I would get a refund minus the PayPal fees.

Seriously? I never even received it, and it was under warranty.

Once the transaction was reversed, I was credited the entire amount—didn’t have to do anything. (It did tell me several things about the seller.)
