Primble's Mystery GAW - Prizes Mailed

Another bit of international flavor to this thread  (great gesture and funny giveaway Primble!)
So, I live in NW Sardinia...a land of wonders (Yeah, I know, any islander says the same about his own island...:o)
All these pictures (none of which is mine) are taken half an hour or less from my door (self imposed limit ;))

This is my town's most important building and square, and the fountain of Rosello where people took the water from, until quite recently:

Beaches is not really something that we lack: this is La Pelosa (Stintino):

Alghero, its ancient walls towards the sea, and the lighthouse in Capo Caccia:

Now to the inner land, to visit a Nuraghe (ancient megalythic buildings only found on the island, built around 3500 years ago):

Sweet Pictures and giveaway!

Picture I took a few days ago on the Des Moines River from my kayak.

I also live in Pleasant Hill.......from a different state. It also happens to be the home of the world famous Iowa State Fair. Search engine picture

Favorite knife.

Primble, I've had a lot of fun looking at everyone's photos, and I thank you for starting this great thread!:thumbup:

It's tough to pick a favorite knife, but the "Predator Harness/Lifter" is very close:

Here are a few photos of my neighborhood:We have a beautiful view of the water from our deck. See, there it is, just beyond the main road out front.

Well, the trees are kinda in the way, but it looks like this. You can just make out the highrises in Seattle, south in the background; the buoys mark my crab pot.

Looking northwest to the town of Kingston and the ferry leaving for the mainland.

Views like this are common where I live. This is the marina at Shelton, an hour's drive south. This view is looking west, and you can just make out Mount Rainier in the distance.

I hope you enjoyed the photos!

There's a lot here to love, but a couple of my preferred spots are along the shores of Lake Erie, like this one:

Really nice! :thumbup::)

There are a number of us from Austin, TX, but no one has mentioned the bats!

Love the bats picture Rachel !!:)

Another favorite of mine that is "in the running".:)

My apologies ahead of time, Primble, as my response is somewhat of a sidestep.

I have currently have little discretionary time or energy for mystery and intrigue (so have no idea where to start with the puzzle of "three" in your Clue post, with four old coins in evidence-- I shall leave that to others :)). At the same time, I welcome your presence here and the amazing responses you have elicited so far, and find I want to respond somehow.

With that in mind, and as others with more time in this subforum may recognize, I cannot think of "where I live" without reigniting a visceral longing for Home.

I currently live in Pennsylvania (USA), but my heart's home is in New Hampshire, the place of my birth and youth and where my adult self still feels the ground come up and carry me every time I'm able to return. The rocks of Mt. Washington capture the essence of what draws me there, the Ammonoosuc River finding its headwaters on the mountain's slopes and flowing down through all the land that I love.

It's not the mountain itself, the mountain only, that holds my heart and tethers me into reality even now, but the joining of effort and muscle and sinew and longing and straining into the ascent. And oh, those rocks.

I took the following pictures of my favorite knife while clambering up the slopes of Mt. Washington-- my beloved rocks-- last August (a year? already?!).

One of my favorite TC Barlow's in a nicely done landscape - how can that not impress!:p
and the Summit picture is also a very very nice one !:thumbup::)

PERTINUX BRINGS UP A GOOD POINT, AS USUAL:

I understand that some here have more time for mystery and others do not.

The mystery prize might be left for an entrant whose photograph does not carry forward to the top 20 finalists.

OR - IF YOUR PICTURE IS TIED WITH ANOTHER - THE STAB AT THE MYSTERY MIGHT BE THE TIE-BREAKER.

YES - THERE WILL BE A TOP 20, THEN 10 AND THEN A TOP 5. ;)

(IT NEARLY ALWAYS TAKES MORE THAN ONE CLUE TO SOLVE A GOOD MYSTERY - USUALLY MANY MORE) ;)

IF I HAVE QUOTED ONE OR MORE OF YOUR PICTURES, THOSE QUOTED PICTURES ARE CURRENTLY IN THE MIX AS A POTENTIAL WINNER !!

I am going back through all the entries so far, to make sure I have quoted all the pictures that will be considered for the top twenty.

I think I will leave the thread open for new entries through at least this Friday - better get on board soon. :)

If your picture has not been quoted by me, you can submit a new entry. If you are submitting a re-entry, try to pick your 4 best pictures for submission. ;)

Just a word to every one. I have enjoyed seeing all the pictures. The ones I have picked to move forward, so far, are simply my favorites of the ones you submitted.

I will try to have all pictures submitted thus far, which will be moving forward, by the witching hour!

I am currently going back through the beginning pages.

After seeing all the pics people are posting, thought i would try and up my game...
rather than start another post, i decided to add to my original...

Very wise move - the power of Google! Moving forward! ;):)

Primble, thanks for the chance and the fun thread!

My own house has a creek and woods at the bottom of the hill in back, and we routinely see deer, fox, raccoons, possum, and a myriad of bird life.
Moving forward. ;)

Thanks for the chance!
My favorite knife, no surprise.

Wonderful knife and picture! :thumbup::)

This pictures were taken in October of 2008. I'll be back there as soon as the leaves start to turn this year.

Really nice scenic picture Gary! :)

Thanks. I'm glad you like it. The only downside is what's called a "snow shovel". If we get a lot of snow like that this year, I can't really complain. We are in a terrible drought here in California.

Sorry to hear that - a shame we can't send you some of our rain - August with lush green grass from all the rain!

I have gone through all of the pages tonight and have finished my quoted images. If your image or images have not been quoted and you desire to continue to participate, please do so by submitting a new re-post of no more than four images, other than your knife picture. Please - no more editing of your original post - submit another post instead - thank you everyone and GOOD LUCK !! :)

For those of you have not yet posted - you better get busy. :D
