unfortunately it's not your money, you sent it to him as a gift. that was you scamming paypal and in return you may have gotten screwed.

i haven't checked this sinse my last post but damn, this has turned into a witch hunt. let the peices fall where they may. sounds like the 1st deal is finished (w/ssgwhite) and this one is still mid stream. i'd say wait till this new deal gets sorted out but i'm sure the super drama queens will have lots to bitch about.

Still hurt that you couldn't see the writing on the wall I see.

Would you all like me to ban him right now?
Will that get the OP his knife?

Now we have someone else in line to be scammed.
Did he read the repeated advice never to use PayPal friends?

Whole thing is like giving a dying crackhead $20. Enabling, until Mods and Members REFUSE to help anyone who does not follow the rules, does not read the sticky's, this will NEVER stop, Never.. I think some Members are fire chasers, who live for this type of drama. I have zero concern for guys who break rules and do stupid stuff, zero. Too many Members need help in other ways. We have Guys actually dying of cancer, lung disease, etc. That's where, IMO, this community falls short. But we will post hundreds of reply's aiding someone who refused to follow the rules. I just don't see it.

Drama ..Drama ..Drama..
Popcorn anyone?

OH
"""GO CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS-2015 STANLEY CUP CHAMPIONS"""

Where did the OP not follow rules?

Not trying to be mean, but that is a very stupid thing you did. and that other people always do. There is a reason why the forum rules warn against this. For the seemingly many of you that have not read it here is the link (yet again):
http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/announcement.php?f=699&a=98

Here is the specific quote under the section for buyers:

Here is a 3 year old sticky in many of the forums here, again it goes unread. People are either lazy, careless, or possibly both and more.

I don't know what to say in a situation like this. I'm at a loss. People don't do a damn bit of research, they don't look out for themselves. They want to save someone a few bucks and for what?
You guys need to start writing to https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/investigations/mailfraud/mailfraud.aspx
Mail fraud is a federal offense. If you do nothing, he wins. He is committing fraud and is using the USPS as a tool to complete the deceptive transactions. You owe it to yourselves to fight for your property. I'm pretty sure no one gave you the items in question and they are not illegal to buy, sell, or own. Get on the ball guys, no one is going to do this for you.

exactly why should mods help people who do the wrong things. Do you thing Esav and Rev. Don't have lives ?? IMO it's rude and careless. Waste of forum time. And it gives those of us who buy or trade in the exchange a sore eye. Also MANY posting advise here, still ask for gifts, ask for members to pay the 3-4 % paypal fee. This is against both forum rules and paypal rules. I think ANY member who asks for a gift, or for the buyer to pay the fees should be reported here. As a matter of fact I am going to start doing that. I am tired of seeing some of you come here like heroes, while you ask for shady deals yourself.. Why is it ok to cheat Paypal out of money ? It still makes you a thief.. I had a member ask for me to gift funds this week, AFTER, I had posted "I will Take it" , I SAID HELL, NO.

There's no rule here prohibiting the use of the PayPal gift option. I agree with you that people shouldn't use it (and it's annoying when people post a price as, say, "$400 net to me" because they're implicitly condoning the use of the gift option), but there ain't no rule against it.

This Ryan Posey fellow was banned once already...so...

This is probably a stupid question, but if someone gets banned and then sneaks back onto the forums under a new account/username, are they banned again if and when they're found out? I can see keeping their account active while some clusterflarp like this is going on, but when it's over, is the previously banned member banned again?

Enquiring minds want to know. Okay, maybe just I do.

Here's a couple of final thought after following this thread for days.

People don't always live in a place that is convenient to a post office. However, one can print labels and ship from their home. All you have to do is create a free account with USPS online and don't even have to store credit card or PayPal info online. They also provide free shipping boxes/envelopes and deliver them to your home ---- all for free. There is NO cost to ship from home AND you have a good record of all your transactions stored online for easy access. You can send tracking info to the other party via e-mail all as part of the transaction. It's easy peasy and I haven't been to the PO in a long time and I buy/sell frequently.

Lastly, with regard to setting "rules" in a for sale/trade thread - it kills me when I open a thread and see 10-20 lines of info on the item, a few pics, then scroll down and there are pages and pages of "terms". I tend to just close the thread and move on. These folks tend to be the most difficult to deal with and it's not worth the hassle. I am a straight shooter and have good communication skills. I pay fast. I ship fast. I follow our agreement to the letter unless there is extenuating circumstances beyond my control and then relay the info immediately to the other party so there are no surprises or disappointments. That is how MEN deal with one another. Anything less is unacceptable.

That's about as simple as I can lay it out. Too bad not everyone is of the same high moral & ethical standard.

OK, one more thing ---- if I EVER receive an empty box with a note I will be spitting mad and will pursue fraud charges to the every extent of the law. It's deception pure and simple. Would Ryan have followed through with the deal? We will never know but the fact he sent an empty box is beyond the limits of how a gentleman conducts himself.

Serious shout out to Spark and the Mods for handling this like they have.

Give him a chance and see if he mans up.

Unfortunately I think we all can see it's not happening.

I also think he may have some mental health issues and yes, I am qualified to make that call. ;)

Best to all.

Sorry, you are correct, so I will now consider everyone who cheats paypal to be a great member and someone I want to do business with. Sad, but many of life's rules are not followed on Bladeforums. I guess it's o.k. to cheat the # 1 source of payment this forum uses. Yes uses to collect it's own membership fees, and money for tee shirts etc. While BF may not find it necessary to protect Paypal, Palpal has certainly protected thousands of transactions on this and many other forums. I think working with and offering the same respect one expects is both the correct and good business. BF could easily enforce this rule which has been discussed MANY times, and by doing so would greatly reduce scams, protect members, and be a better partner with paypal. I DO NOT CARE WHAT BF RULES STATE, STEALING IS STEALING. IF YOU WILL CHEAT ONE SITE, YOU WILL CHEAT ANOTHER.

man this is some surreal shit. OP, glad you got your end of the nightmare settled. Kyle I hope the same for you as well.

This is one of the strangest scams ive ever seen. Either that or this trader is simply incompetent and illogical.

i never know what the hell you are talking about or why you seem to creep on all my posts but i'm glad to see you identified yourself as one of the super drama queens.

Based on that, I can't see why certain individuals are blaming you for the delays in your shipping your end. Not that it's relevant anyway, Ryan Posey had already shipped you an empty box. The fraud here was his.

This is really what this is all about in the end.

The minor details everyone is so interested in mean Zero.
Shipped it a little later then you should have, whatever.

Point is, you would have always received an empty box with a note......
That's what this is about.

Looks like this worked out for you with the intercept, which is great.
Refund his $ and move on.

There is really no lesson here, this can happy to anyone and there's no way to figure out who could potentially send you an empty box, unless you know the seller on a personal level.

Trades are risky, there is no PP protection for them.

At least we found one more shady 'member' to add to our ignore lists, and I think that's the only real strange positive here.

Just send a link of the sales thread to PP and get some accounts frozen.

I am kidding.....

It is with reluctance and ughness that it had to come to this point so, so early in the game. I pledged not to take part in a such a ridiculous thread because it was created so prematurely and probably in the heat of the moment. Nonetheless, Revdevil was kind enough to send me a well-written, non-accusatory, unbiased pm signifying that it be in the best interest of the BF community that I respond. I respect that and do so to give the other side of the story even for the sheer benefit of its members and future members whatever that may be. I also am taking his advice in not responding to any other comment/post other than the OP to whom this whole debacle was made possible. If and when an exception has been made, it will be so and at the sole discretion of myself and for the best interest of the BF community. Thank you

So here is my side:

Surprisingly the original OP did a fairly good job of quoting my side of the story as well as his from our ongoing back and forth email conversations. Still he forgot to add one small detail, the most recent message sent just over 10 hours ago:

Hello,

Yes, I do recall sending you the tracking number and you replying with something of the sorts. I do apologize for that error on my part. Nonetheless I recall sending you the correct tracking number that same day so you should have been able to get the package out that day or at least the next. The only thing I can think of about the address not working correctly is something on your end as I never had problem with it in the past not being valid in Paypal. In fact I contacted Paypal recently to make sure everything was up to date and good to go. A confirmed address shows up regardless.

I'm sorry but I am just not buying the fact stating that you were risking $525. If you felt that was the value, you would have listed it as such. For the same reason I didn't list the Sylsz at $275 is the same reason you didn't list yours at $525. Please be honest. None of that really matters though except for the simple fact we agreed on a value for each of our respective knives and agreed on a trade deal based on those values. We both had equal value to risk and at stake. The only difference is I sent you $107+ first. *

Well all is said and done, I understand where you are coming from and hope you can understand where I am coming from as well. Hopefully your knife will arrive tomorrow and proceed from there.

Thanks,

As it stands, the OP has had my money now going on a week and yet I still haven't received his knife. I believe this all could have been avoided had he actually send his knife out to me on the exact day we agreed upon and/or given me a chance to respond/ explain the package w/the note. Instead he decided to go run and "tattle" and create a no-doubt accusatory thread in a matter of no less than 3 hours time. I wasn't even given 3 hours time to respond before this thread was created! Then when I tried to offer an explanation, all I received was a FU*K NO response.

I must have missed the part as to why you decided to send a note rather a knife (as you agreed.)
