Problems with UrFrndlyNebrhoodS AKA Ryan Posey

How about this. Starting today June 16th Ryan has until Saturday June 20th to complete the deals he is involved in. or else his account is locked permanently. Until then, no sales threads, no trade threads, nothing for Ryan. Focus only on the deals at hand. If he completes the deals he may be allowed to stay, maybe. After so much narcissistic, condescending, and other kinds of behaviors it will take a conversation with the mods that have already posted here to decide ultimately. Better a slim chance than no chance, right Ryan?

I don't get how banning someone makes a difference. Someone enlighten me.
Seems like he was already banned once. All you have to do is make a new account... Which he did. Now if he gets banned again all he has to do is make a new account. No?

They'll be watching for him, he'll get planked quickly from now on.

I see mods taking down banned members that started new accounts all the time. Sooner or later theyll figure out who you are.

Thank you kind sir. The allotted time frame seems reasonable enough considering all that has taken place. I beg to differ on the condescending tones though coming from my side. If they appeared that way, I apologize. I have been and only try to state my side of the case and been as honest as I can. I even apologize if some of the comments came off as slightly narcissistic as well, to which could be halfway true. I don't think being narcissistic makes one a necessarily bad person but obviously it is not the ideal. Sometimes it can get to be a bit difficult to keep one's cool or remain neutral in any fashion when one's back can be against the wall. Nonetheless, a slim chance is very much so better than no chance at all and I am grateful for it.

Thanks,

No, actually, you have been banned before as a scammer.

This worries me! I am relatively new at doing transactions here and this is allowed? Banned once for scamming and not banned immediately upon reappearance?

So is he not going to be banned again if he refunds the second guys remaining funds and will be allowed to continue "doing business" (if that is what you want to call it) here, I guess that is my real question because I need to know before I go much further on this site. I understand mods need to be calm and look at the facts but the main fact was stated above...previously banned as as scammer. I also understand no one really cares if I stay and do business here since I am a relative newbie and you already have my non-refundable $30 upgrade but I found the first issue was unacceptable and then there was a second on the same day. UNBELIEVABLE.

At this point I think patience is in order. Trust in the Mods. I believe that they have the members best interest in mind and will do what is appropriate when it is appropriate. This deal is not complete yet.

Me too. It's infuriating for those of us with even an ounce of integrity. I just know that this sort of thing is not the norm here.

Enlightening Mode On:
Banning someone removes the immediate thread for future scams. We cannot protect people from themselves, if they willing choose to throw caution to the wind time and time again it is on them. But, allowing someone that does this kind of thing to continue here with impunity sends a bad message. It hurts the community and it makes people want to stay away.
We have ways to detect when a banned member comes back. The size of the community here itself, there are a lot of watchdogs that remain very silent, but they offer help and they are NOT mods at all. Just people that want this place to remain a clean, honorable, and safe place to conduct transactions. We've caught some people that have come back at the least a dozen times, they get caught sooner or later, they all get cocky and make mistakes and then they out themselves.

I am trying but this thread is nuts...sending an empty box and then scamming again!

Relax, you don't understand what it is we do here as moderators and no it is not tolerated. There are things going on that you just have no knowledge of and they are not up for discussion publicly.

I do understand that more goes on than meets the eye. i am sure there are behind the scenes conversations, decisions, etc... that are not appropriate to share with the masses. I am also sure this is infuriating to Mods as well. I was trying to make the point that we should trust this is being dealt with accordingly.

BTW - thank you Rev!

Please re-read Post 226, particularly 2cnd paragraph up from the bottom.

A lot of people seem to be so caught up on this courtesy note in the box. Had I been in the situation again, I would no doubt do so in a heartbeat 1000 times over if I felt alarmed at one point the other party would not hold up to their end of the agreement. I would much rather deal with the criticism and condemnation of my peers than risk loosing $365 in value on a trade deal with no recourse on my side. Let’s see, be name called and accused or loose $357? Hmmm. Can one imagine IF I had sent my knife instead of the note, waited 2 days to receive his shipment notification? He then keeps my $107+ and sends me a $30 valued knife or and contacts the Post Office with an intercept and keeps my knife. Sorry, it is an outcome I would not be willing to live with. To those who have not had the pleasure of trade deal communications with ssghwhite and still put 100% trust and wouldn’t mind risk loosing $357, good on you. Trade on

Sincerely,

So you would send a "courtesy" note if you were in the same situation again?
If you have doubts about a situation and feel you will be scammed don't deal with that person. Don't send anything to them and tell them not to send anything your way and that's the end of it.

In the alternate reality in which you did send your knife and money and he sent nothing, he'd be the one on the edge of the plank.

You have made your decisions based on IF's while the OP decisions were based on actions.

You mean the paragraph quoted below?

Still not seeing where you make any mention of "oops, I was supposed to send a knife and sent a note instead".

This reads, at best (and I mean, ridiculously generous), as "I got concerned that I'd get scammed so decided to preempt the scammer". Although, even if true, why not just be a man and say "you're behaving like a scammer, I am pulling out of the trade"?

In reality, and I am sure you won't admit this, you were trying to pull some level of scam. I don't think the intent was to outright steal but more to see if you can do better on the knife in question. I think the goal was to shop the bowie further and, if successful, reverse the trade with OP.

Just my two cents.

FYI...I am a moderator on a coin/bullion forum so I do understand your position but it just looks bad and unfortunately I was the one who said what probably 75% of the lurkers were thinking. I am not privy to the behind the scenes PM's and/or conversations so I am sorry if I was out of line.

Obviously it was recommend to me by a Mod that I don't respond to anyone other than the OP and of course the second party involved. In any case I did engage you first or at least post a response so will follow it through if and until it reaches a point of incoherency. You obviously have been a long time member here and over the past years I do recall reading and viewing your postings here and there. Please forgive as although I recognize your seniority and respect that I also hold little hope of your objectivity. It really isn't anything personal but only a natural tendency made much pronounced but the nature and tone of this thread via the vast majority of posts. As it were, I still have no desire to, no even have the time or ability, to respond to each and every post/comment/opinion. Nonetheless, the vast majority of questions do have answers found so easily by previous posts from ssgwhite and myself. Onto the questions below.......

To answer your question, please re-read the later part of posts #7 and #75.

Now onto the second part about the shop around thing. Say what? That is about as surreal as most of this whole thread and the accusations at hand. It is pretty hard for me to wrap my head around but what you are "implying" is that my intention was to list multiple sales for the same Bowie and have all these knives come in at the same time and then weigh my options from there? You have to be joking right? First off, the Slysz is an awesome knife and IMO even better than a plain jane Sebenza in many ways. Could it compete with an original Umnumzaan or Large Annual Regular? No This being said, you and any others are free to visit my profile and do you own searches through past threads I have visited, commented in, and thread started by myself (sales included). It is all there plain as day. For the two trades that were recently ongoing, the Skyline, for example and the WC Eagle. Now, the Skyline seems like a good knife but no where near the level of the Slysz Bowie. I don't need to have it in my hands for feel it literally to make that judgement. The WC on the other hand seems like a very sweet knife and was the one I was highly interested in trying. By "trying" I mean actually receiving it from ssgwhite, inspecting it, and if it was what he claimed it was, completing the deal. Period. Sorry to debunk your theory but my intentions were wholly pure on this one.

cheers
