I've read this entire thread from the beginning and there is a lot of finger pointing. The Blade is stamped "Blade Forums" which represents Sparks house and we are all guests in his house visiting the different rooms. This particular room is the "Porch" and has it's Fraternity of Faithful posters who believe they HAVE sole right to this knife first simply because they post constantly and anyone else is considered an OUTSIDER. If this Knife is meant to be Priority for the Porch Members Only they should have it Stamped "Porch Members Only" this will eliminate all those future confrontations about qualifying for the knife, and will Eliminate "Flippers" because any knife being flipped will have come from one of the Frat Brothers. I don't generally post in the Porch because my expertise lies in the Makers Forums where I can contribute to help other makers with what little bit of knowledge I have acquired the last 15 years as a maker. I probably won't qualify since I don't sit at a keyboard all day poking other members of the Porch, and since it's not pertinent information on the knife processes I will be doing today it would just be flapping my gums to add to a thread. I look at all the Wonderful Knife Photos that get posted everyday and hear the joy of ownership when someone compliments a Photo...I just wanted a Forum Knife to represent all the years I have been paying Spark to belong to his Forums...Thankx for taking the time to read my rant.

This post makes me happy and relieved for my many forum friends.
The Forum Knife means nothing if Porch Regulars get run over on their way to buy one.
 
The ordering process this year was “fun”. I wish strongly that the threads had all been locked, so we didn’t have endless chatter for months which I feel kind of built the whole thing into a fever pitch. But at the same time it may not have been any different any other way, because, well, it was a desirable forum knife for many reasons.
I do agree it might have been nice to have a bit more transparency closer to the end, or notification via PM, or something…… but that is truly a lot of extra work. So in short I have nothing really constructive to offer as to how it could have been done better. But I sincerely hope that all the regulars who wanted one, were able to get one.

I know we commonly refer to this knife as the forum knife, but strictly speaking it is the sub-forum knife. There did use to be a BF forum knife, and various other sub-forums have also produced special knives for their members :thumbsup:

The Knife in Question in fact all previous knives have been plainly stamped Blade Forums.....Spark gave his approval for this. So this is in fact an open knife for all members of Blade Forums...There is No "Sub-Forum" designation stamped on this Blade, Strictly speaking you are trying to make this a Protected Porch Members Only Knife. Not Talking about USED TO BE talking about the Current Knife. You can argue this until the cows come home, but in the end it's still stamped "BLADE FORUMS". I understand trying to keep this knife within the Porch Community, but people like myself would also like to own one, and not allowing that you are "Snubbing" other knife hobbyists for your own glorious ownership and gloating.

Well, it's a shame you've only made 21 posts here in this sub-forum since 2011, otherwise you'd be able to buy one. I WANT doesn't always GET! :)

My 'glorious ownership' is limited to purchasing 3 Traditional forum knives since 2005 (including this one) ;) :thumbsup:
