. I've been gifted 3 forum knives by other members, in addition to the 3 I've purchased. That's the sort of thing that happens all the time here, because that's the special place this sub-forum is.
As a Maker I have the ability to give away knives all the time....I donate to Duck's Unlimited, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Church Raffles, Benefit raffles for people needing money for medical expenses all in all maybe 40+ knives...It's a good will gesture to hopefully improve my Karma for all my misdeeds.

Really trying to catch up on everything. I had knee surgery yesterday (Wednesday) so I was pretty out of it all day. I am one of those fellas that has paid for the annual knife on Tuesday and have yet to receive an email from GSJ. A member since 2013, not all paid years, and meet the requirements quite a few times fold, have done a lot of recovers and mods for members as well. Had a little hiccup on my end with payment and sent an email to gunstockjack gunstockjack explaining that. And yes, I included my BF handle. $ has been taken from my bank account, so I’m assuming I’m in good standing to receive the knife. I apologize if this is a redundant question, but was I, am I, suppose to do anything more? I’ve seen where other members have paid for their annual knife hours after I did and have gotten confirmation. I’m just a bit confused. Again, I apologize if this has been answered/addressed.

Not Whining just Pointing out the Facts. And you can't sit there and tell me you are not laughing at those of us that didn't participate enough and unfortunately miss out...Be Honest
I'm not laughing at the fact people missed out on getting a knife, good friends of mine have missed out. I may have laughed at some of the posts that have been made here today, but yours, increasingly, have got my eyes standing out on stalks. I think you're going to have to accept you're not getting a knife :(

And Be Honest, you are whining aren't you?

I've gotten to know Jack a wee bit over the years - I can assure you, he isn't laughing and neither am I. Seriously, why would we?

Exasperated? Yes. Not necessarily with you but with the state of things in general. Things get heated over the forum knife every year - it's a wonder that we even get one across the finish line these days.
I've read many of Jack's postings and I believe he is 100% stand up guy, but by the same token isn't it Human Nature to Gloat a little and maybe have a chuckle at others expense when someone like myself brings up a point that ruffles the feathers of die hard Porchenburg members....I have pretty thick skin having been around the Sun 71 times, and age does mellow the soul. I was merely making my case from Charlie's Original Rules....Your Room Your Rules if you need to move the Goal Post:cool:

Well done

Hope you make a full recovery

Don't pull out the pitchforks and torches on me, but I would honestly love a case knife. If just because it's different. GEC is great but it would be pretty cool to convince case to pull something out of the vault for us. Maybe a 35 jack or a 45 cigar?

It's a bit early but when the time comes, I would be in full support of approaching Case (again). Maybe things have changed since last someone had checked. That said, I am not confident we could meet their minimum - even if it was 500 pieces. This year is an anomaly and it is strictly because it is a GEC, and not just any GEC, a GEC Barlow on a very popular frame.

Both of the options you suggest would be alright in my book - I'd even advocate for a Sowbelly or medium stockman with a punch. I haven't found anyone who does a Sowbelly better than Case - short of a custom maybe.

Is it? :( I really don't think anyone here is gloating at your expense :(

I'm sorry, but the only posts I've read of yours are the ones you've posted in this thread. Sorry you didn't get a knife, but I really think you need to move on, there'll be other knives

Here you go buddy should settle the nerves. i am in the same boat

Don't email Barry!! He's a busy boy!!
If you got the PP receipt, your payment is good, as is your order!!

A lot of us who placed an order on Tuesday only received a PayPal confirmation and have not received a GSJ email confirmation. To my knowledge we’re all in good standing and if you entered your BF handle in the special instructions box they should be able to see it in their end even though it doesn’t show up on the PayPal confirmation email. My card has been charged now, all there is to it now is trusting the process; waiting for the email update that will hopefully come when Barry received shipment of the knives, then waiting on a shipment confirmation email. 🤞

Yep, I still say that Buck needs threaded bolsters. The bomb shield isn’t generally my cup of tea. I cherish both knives.
I like mine as well, and rotate them regularly in my pocket.

The Buck has fantastic steel, it works great in this package, but boy is this one thickly ground. The edge needs to be laid back considerably to make this puppy cut well. The covers are pretty thin too, so I am a bit more careful throwing it around.

Honestly, if given the opportunity, I think we could come up with a very cool Case forum knife.
Heres some 2 min quick search replies from last year. I don't know if it's accurate as I'm just pulling threads from the forum. It seems to come up every year, and every year it doesn't work out.

"Last time we checked, Case required a minimum order of 500 knives. And that would be for a standard, in-production pattern."

"I know Case is not interested in doing 300 to 500 of the annual Blade Forum traditional knife.
I think someone said Case has a minimum order of 1,000 to do a SFO."

Guess you're throwing me out of the Room...Thank you for your time and tolerance, and sorry I made your eyes sore.

OK, so the confirmation email goes out automatically and I don't physically send it. Check your spam folder if you want but the PayPal invoice is proof enough of your order. I don't have time to go back and check everybody's status. thanks

It might be in the nature of some but most certainly not mine and I'd wager not in Jack's either.

I do take issue with the moving of the goal posts though and the lack of notice that was given - if I had not been tuned in on the site when the thread was posted and notices were given, I'd have likely missed out myself. We've done things a certain way these last few years so I think how this was rolled out surprised a good many of us. Many of us are distraught that some of our friends here are going to potentially miss out - I've even offered mine up to help ease some of that disappointment. I know others have as well - these aren't the actions of ones who are gloating.

Even if I have no knife - I will still have my buddies here. I think that is a point that is getting a bit lost in the weeds. Seriously though, I am at a loss on why we are being viewed so poorly.

Haha, yeah, the Buck knife is cool, but it is a thick blade! I’ve struggled over and over to get it “right”, and have yet to succeed. I always chuckle to myself that it will eventually be one of those knives that someone picks up somewhere and there will be a thread here about it looking like some moron used a chainsaw to sharpen it!
