He's too busy trying to make a living. The man works on knives and designs from sun up to long past sun down. There are personal issues in his life right now that I don't think are appropriate to discuss here. Warren isn't the only designer to call QRTRMSTR out. Do your research. Warren is a friend of mine and whatever reputation that he's supposedly earned around here isn't deserved. If you knew half of the story you wouldn't even be trying to pick a fight with me. I've heard the phone calls. I've seen the results. Warren never gave him permission to use his name or those designs.
Anyway, QRTRMSTR / Jared already dug his own grave and people need to stop defending him. As far as I'm concerned this is over. Anyone with half a bit of sense would know to steer far clear of these knives. Questionable business practices are one thing - but there's ample proof that what's going on in Dripping Springs is far more sinister than questionable. One only needs to use the search function. No one should support a company that steals designs from reputable knife makers... and how would you like it if someone decided to use your name and face to endorse a questionable product? Would you like to wake up one day and see that you've been unknowingly endorsing Extenze? It's wrong no matter how you cut it. Anyone that defends QRTRMSTR has no appreciation for intellectual property laws. Go buy a Mr. Roper or Ricardo Tubbs and pretend that you have a real Warren Thomas, that's the ticket!
I done my research, look back at who's posted what in this thread. I know Bram Frank has made the claim as well, he had agreements with Mantis, but nothing with QTRM5TR. I don't know if I'd call Warren a 'reputable knife maker', but that's another story.
If I woke one day to find my name on a product I never approved or my designs stolen, I've be upset and a few dollars richer after suing every penny I can squeeze out of them. Warren has done nothing, why? If it's so clean, cut and dry, it'd be an breeze.
I'm not defending QTRM5TR, I'm just trying to look at both side of the story with skepticism to try and stay objective as possible.
