Quartermaster knives

Thank you for that succinct summary, I was hoping there was a revelation in the past month or so. They have taken down the super-facility claims from their site as far as I can tell, I thought maybe this meant that they were going to straighten up and fly right. There are companies that screwed up in the past and snapped out of it, Strider for instance, and I was hoping that was what had happened here.

Unfortunately they haven't. Honestly, I couldn't imagine the lawsuits if they came out and said, "Sorry, we lied, all our knives have indeed been manufactured in China."

Added sales... Simple as that... There are so many people who simply will not buy made in china Knives, knife people and non knife people alike, regardless of true quality they are already deemed "crap" right off the bat, so by claiming " made in America" they keep a larger (unaware) audience intrigued as potential clients.

Some of the new QTRM5TR knives are stamped/etched "USA MADE"

Still no photos of the actual shop or anything other than close ups of blanks.

Did some research as this all is just so bizarre -- Lee Ann Price purchased property in 2014 or 2015 on Carrol Lane in Dripping Springs, TX. 5 acres, residential neighborhood.

The compound address referenced earlier looks to have been a rental at the time...

Shysters all the way.

there's other "makers" pulling the same crap. Before you pay in advance for that "custom" pocket brick think about it.

Unfortunately most of the high-dollar custom folders that are popular now are mostly cut/CNC'ed, then embellished by apprentices and sold as customs for $1000+.
To me a CUSTOM knife is entirely handmade. A CUSTOMIZED knife is machine made and decorated by someone. I'd never pay more than a few hundred for a mid-tech, which is what a lot of these "customs" are these days. That's why most makers only offer a few models if that at a time. They get batches of parts made for a run... It's unfortunate really, and as CNC machines come down in price, there will be many more "custom" makers popping up with expertly crafted knives who couldn't grind a blade from a blank if their lives depended on it.

Another blow to the QTRMSTR Made in USA lie... These photos are direct screenshots off the qtrmstr_backstage instagram as well as the weknives instagram. There are tons of other photos that cross over but these two are the most incriminating.

Someone needs to call the authorities on these losers who handles made in america frauds?

WHAT TO DO ABOUT VIOLATIONS
What if I suspect noncompliance with the FTC’s Made in USA standard or other country-of-origin mislabeling?
Information about possible illegal activity helps law enforcement officials target companies whose practices warrant scrutiny. If you suspect noncompliance, contact the Division of Enforcement, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission, Washington, DC 20580; (202) 326-2996 or send an e-mail to MUSA@ftc.gov (link sends e-mail). If you know about import or export fraud, call Customs’ toll-free Commercial Fraud Hotline, 1-800-ITS-FAKE. Examples of fraudulent practices involving imports include removing a required foreign origin label before the product is delivered to the ultimate purchaser (with or without the improper substitution of a Made in USA label) and failing to label a product with a required country of origin.

You also can contact your state Attorney General and your local Better Business Bureau to report a company. Or you can refer your complaint to the National Advertising Division (NAD) of the Council of Better Business Bureaus by calling (212) 754-1320. NAD handles complaints about the truth and accuracy of national advertising. You can reach the Council of Better Business Bureaus on the web at adweb.com/adassoc17.html.

Finally, the Lanham Act gives any person (such as a competitor) who is damaged by a false designation of origin the right to sue the party making the false claim. Consult a lawyer to see if this private right of action is an appropriate course of action for you.

FOR MORE INFORMATION
The FTC works for the consumer to prevent fraudulent, deceptive, and unfair business practices in the marketplace and to provide information to help consumers spot, stop, and avoid them. To file a complaint or to get free information on consumer issues, visit ftc.gov or call toll-free, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357); TTY: 1-866-653-4261. The FTC enters consumer complaints into the Consumer Sentinel Network, a secure online database and investigative tool used by hundreds of civil and criminal law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad.

YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO COMMENT
The National Small Business Ombudsman and 10 Regional Fairness Boards collect comments from small businesses about federal compliance and enforcement activities. Each year, the Ombudsman evaluates the conduct of these activities and rates each agency’s responsiveness to small businesses. Small businesses can comment to the Ombudsman without fear of reprisal. To comment, call toll-free 1-888-REGFAIR (1-888-734-3247) or go to www.sba.gov/ombudsman.

Seriously, what is with the raging hate on for Quartermaster? If you don't like the knives don't buy them. I honestly don't care where they are made, because the knives are good quality, or at least every one I have handled is. Their customer service exceeded my expectations by miles. I don't have a single complaint about them, but then of course I have ACTUALLY DEALT WITH THE PRODUCTS, not just jumped on the hate train to feel special.

A company that violates state laws and federal regulations by falsely claiming "made in USA" status, and goes to great effort to cover it up and lie to consumers, doesn't deserve to be in business. I don't care if they make the best knives in the world, they're lying scumbags. That's all there is to it.

I think if they were honest in the first place they would be a top selling Premium Chinese knife with an actual warranty. Maybe they should quietly disappear and start a new mysterious brand.

What I am seeing is a lot of circumstantial at best "evidence" that everybody is taking as word of law. Mob mentality and guilty until proven innocent. Report them and leave the investigator to do his work and stop making assumptions and pointless speculations.

IDK but their state of the art facility was a plywood mockup kind of like the fake city North Korea built along the border with the south.

Have you done your own research? Because there has been evidence of shipping orders being tracked in china, evidence that quartermaster has no business license or permits in the state of Texas (which would be illegal if they are operating without one) and the fact that the company has not once tried to prove they do in fact manufacture and assemble everything in America. On a side note if you ever bring up the issue on any of their instagram accounts they will block you IMMEDIATELY. This is false advertisement at its finest only because of the profitability of claiming their products are "Made in America". I do not know about you but if i found out a company like Spyderco was using 440A on their knives but marking them S30V, M4, VG10, etc. myself and many others would be pissed and it would force me not to buy their products, especially if they just outright lie about it and keep lying about it. No one is questioning their quality. No one is questioning their customer service. Most wouldn't care if they were made in china. This is about their INTEGRITY and they have none, zero, zilch.
