If you agree to a trade and you send and the other guy doesn't, how long do you wait before trying to get the package intercepted and hopefully get your knife back? I'm still new and nervous about someone not sending and keeping the one you send.

Thanks!

What's making you nervous? Has communication suddenly ceased?
I'd say if you're really suspicious that something's up and you have evidence to support it, you should try to have it intercepted ASAP.
But that's just my opinion and this is the internet. I'm sure someone will be along shortly to violently disagree... ;)

So just now heard back, even though they talked about trying to ship yesterday afternoon but couldn't (understandable), they said they would this morning. Person just replied and said he probably wouldn't be able to until Sunday or Monday. The user also said that since I'm new he would like to get it before he shipped which I would feel different of those were the terms that were made before the deal was made and I shipped. He seemingly changed the terms after the deal was made, he said what he was going to do and I had already shipped. Honestly seems shady to me that he isn't doing what he said he was going to do and also changing everything after I shipped my 400+ knife to him via USPS priority. Am I being unreasonable? People do like people to do what they say they are going to do, right. Maybe I'm just old fashioned and was taught different. Please do let me know if I'm being unreasonable. I am new here so I don't want to make waves but I also don't want to be taking advantage of.

Get your knife back ASAP.
The other person changed the agreed upon terms after you sent your knife, he lied to you for his benefit.
It would also be good if you "out" him so others know and not get screwed by

Thanks for that! I'll certainly give the person a final opportunity before doing so but thanks for verifying.

I've let the user know about this thread. I'll post the email chain later if we don't work things out.

That is complete nonsense on the other person's part. If you agreed to ship at the same time, that's the deal. As far as excuses regarding not being able to ship until Sunday or Monday, that's even more ridiculous. If the person has a PayPal account they can print a shipping label at any time, and drop the package into one of the literally hundreds of thousands of USPS collection boxes that exist throughout the country.

Here's the PayPal link for printing USPS shipping labels: https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_ship-now

intercept is complete. below is the emails that have transpired today and yesterday. I have taken out both or our addresses and email addresses. This user goes by the name of Organic556. Other than email addresses and mailing addresses being omited, the only other thing not in this email chain is pictures which I'm happy to post if it helps anyone. I've learned something and it only costs me 30. Hopefully this helps others to with dealing with this guy.

If it sounds shady then go get your package and cancel it. I don't need to plead my case to you. I have other members that can vouch that I'm trustworthy. Some have left comments in the feedback section forum. I have not stiffed anyone out of their money or knives. So do what you want. No hard feelings here.

These were your words...

"Not today i didn't get there in time. I'll have to stop there 830 in the morning"

If not shipping to new members soon after the transaction is your policy, you really should say something before a deal is made. This all really sounds shady.

I said I would try to make it to the post office . I didn't give you a specific day I will ship out. I can for sure send it Monday because I'm off Sunday's and Monday's. We never agreed to shipping out the same day. I rarely ship out same day with new members . I can try to make it to the post office before Monday though.

So what are you not getting with this trade that was agreed upon? Please do let me know

I'm having a hard time getting to the post office with my work hours. I'm off Sunday's and Monday's. But work the rest of the week. Im also nervous in not getting what was agreed on in this trade. I did notice you were pretty new to the site. I have had seller send me USPS money orders and checks for payment on knives I have sold. I always delivered the knives when I received the money. You can verify that will my past traders. Im not trying to steal your knife. Just like you I want to be sure that I get the knife as described. If you feel the need to cancel the shipment for lack of trust that's fine. I have a guy right now that paid 370 for a sebenza and I got the cash from in before I sent the knife. He will get the knife today or tomorrow. He didn't have a issue trusting me. And that knife is worth more or less the same as yours. Yours may be worth less in cash value. I'm not a scam or thief. So just be patient . I have two kids and I work first shift . So it's hard to get to the post office before it closes during the week. Though I have tried.

I'm still really new to this trading thing. The other time I traded everything was well communicated and expectations were met on everything that both sides said was going to happened did. I don't feel that the same is happening on this transaction. We were in communication yesterday before I shipped but since, communication dropped off. I did what I said I was going to do. I'm nervous about shipping a 400 dollar knife blindly to someone so if I don't hear back by lunch, I'm heading to the post office to check on intercepting my package. I've never done that before but I'll certainly try so my initial investment isn't lost. Sorry for the nervousness but like I said I'm new to all of this and really uneasy about trading with someone I've never met.

Yes it has a teK lock mounted on it. It can be adjusted any way you like. I had this sheath custom made for the knife. Look up Tie tactical sheaths on YouTube. You can see how awesome these sheaths are. It will deffenitaly not fall out. Just watch the videos it will explain everything better that I can type here.

No deal was COMPLETED... Feedback should not have been left in this circumstance. That is the precedent that has been set at least

Edit to revise wording slightly

This guy only has 3 positive feedback ratings... Why is he hassling for being a "new" member when he has only 1 more feedback rating than the OP?

I don't trade here, but I can't see how anyone would be upset that you are protecting your assets, especially given the recent bad trades that have made headlines here.
He may be the best seller in the world, but with only 2x the amount of posts as you (and the sales posts among them being for wildly assorted BNIB stuff), it's odd that he doesn't trust you as the "noob".

If he is the best seller, he'll understand you backing out of the deal due to original terms not being met, and will move on with no hard feelings.
If the feedback is accusatory, inaccurate, etc., you should update it to only reflect facts, then move on.

I did try to make a deal though. Something should be on his account for this IMO. I will take it down though if that is the consensus of the members here.

If you watch the movies, prisoner exchanges happen on a bridge at the exact same time (usually with some fog). I guess if you don't have a bridge and fog machine handy, USPS will have to do. :D But if a day/time of shipment is agreed upon, and one party fails, then the likelihood of something going south just increased exponentially. Intercept ASAP if possible, and personally I'd no longer deal with that person. It's just not difficult for the other party to send a quick note saying, hey, I can't make it to the post office, please hold off sending your package until "x" date.

Communication and fair terms are what makes an exchange possible without headache. If one fails, trouble is close behind.

Nothing more than the email thread above IMO. Let me know and I'll change whatever I should

I would read back through some of the previous threads where feedback was left when a deal was not compete. The general consensus is: where the deal is not completed, feedback should not be left.

I would defer to a moderator about the actual feedback score and what to do, since you're getting your knife back. But I think that this kind of thread is A) What the feedback forum is for; remember, Good, Bad, Ugly... B) Helpful for others to see how to conduct trades. He may very well have intended to send you his part of the deal after he received yours, but anything said one way or the other at this point is speculation. You protected your interests and got your knife back, so in the end, no harm befell you.
