Thanks, I built that bench last fall so I could get a sander maybe 6 more months and I can get a drill press.
When I get to working, I'm going to make a little workshop. I have a sander, but not that nice. It's a Craftsman too, just older.

Cool I have a lot to learn :) where and what belts should I get.

to get started I bought some at Sears. 60, 120, 220 grit "blue" belts last longer when grinding metal than "red" belts but are harder to find.
I'm seriously considering modifying my sander to take 2x48 belts if I really get into making.
there's a thread in the shop talk subforum with a lot of resources for new knifemakers
random orbit sander with 300 or better grit disk makes for a decent satin/stonewashed finish.

This thread was made yesterday and it's already over 200 posts? Man, you guys are real snarkaholics!

Video games? I just carved a hill I've never been able to take before.
Got my cruiser deck set up so that I may try some of the Greenway trails here soon.

We are Killing nazis. Your arguement is invalid

but he uses an machine gun while taking those hills, and nails zombies galore. point to guyon.

OK...me and GB just had way too much fun insulting poor Cbear all night. LOL

He may never play xbox again...

You're welcome! Though I'd cal shenanigans if you had a sheath reading the same in place of the blade.;)
Seriously though, well done.

Haha. That would have been sacrilegious to put that on the sheath. ;) :D

Anyone know some good threads or videos on how to make removable handle scales? Thanks guys.

Tanner your pm's are full I can't reply to your question via that so here:

PCB is only for the letters or scratchboarding. Just blue and bleach is needed for what was done to your potbelly

Psyop,

I don't bolt mine down. No need to really because it doesn't walk and let's you move it where you want to. One tip for you, put a folded up wet towel on the bench under the wheel and it will catch the dust & sparks.
I don't have mine bolted down either. That towel is a damn good idea though! I have never done that. I will probably cut down the dusty mess quite a bit.

Psyop: That's one nice looking sander. Be sure to throw some pictures of what you work on up in here. It would be cool to see. I am hoping I get to play with mine more when the semester ends.

If Derek's beckerchat ever goes down again, I have put a chat BBS on one of my sites for us to use until he is back up an running. Just "say when" , and I can give you the url. Requires registration much like Derek's does. Not trying to replace his, just have a back-up in case Derek's host gets bombarded again...
