"Rambo"=AWESOME

It's probably not correct, but early in the movie JR was pounding on some rebar on his anvil. Don't know if you should take that to mean his knife was made from that material or something else. But, from the picture posted above the steel seems very pitted. I don't know - I'm not a knife maker. Probably someone else could speak more knowledgable about this.

Not sure myself, good question. I have tons of rebar in my backyard so if it is possible to make a knife out of that stuff please let me know :D.

Just saw it and I was impressed, good movie that turned out to be alot better than I expected.

:thumbup::thumbup:

I must be totally out of the loop. For some reason I thought United Cutlery went out of business not too long after Camillus.

Nice knife, and it's great they're using forged 1060. Good tough steel, perfectly suited for it's purpose.

The original United did declare bankruptcy and close down. United's assetts and name were bought out by another company who has ressurected United Cutlery as a completely separate company based in Georgia.

Oh ok, that makes sense. Thanks for the update, I obviously missed the news about what happened to them.

A new beginning, that;'s good.

I wish someone would have saved Camillus too.

Just a question ...
I have been bashing out similar looking machetes to the rambo job for a while now , do I stop doing this because if I keep doing it Ill be ripping off anothers design , or do I keep on doing it and ignore the hollyweird knives and hype ?

Im going to keep right on belting them out when people ask for another .. but I was wondering what the PC take from the knife community would be .

No. there is almost no carbon (or just too little) in rebar or other structural steels.

"...until America, door to door, takes every handgun, this is what you're gonna have... It really is pathetic... We're livin' in the Dark Ages over there."

Sylvester Stallone, March 28, 1998

This is coming from a "person" who possesses a concealed carry permit in Los Angeles, something reserved for only the wealthy and/or famous.

If I looked into what all actors think, I probably would be resigned to watching all of my Steve McQueen and John Wayne flicks over and over again.

However, I think that in a case like this, I can do without the obviously infected anal canal that is Stallone.

It was a good movie, kinda...

Couple of notes:
Last 15 minutes of mayhem had me in stitches ROFLMAO. The gratuitus carnage was awesome! Secondly, Sly looks way 'Roided up or something. Almost unnatural. I guess there are no substances that are banned in Hollywood. ;)

He admits to using Human Growth Hormone (HGH) because he believes it gives him a "sense of well being." The HGH accounts for the increase in hand, foot, and jaw size in Stallone. He is also a user and proponent of testosterone ("everone over 40 should use it" is along the lines of his quote) The testosterone accounts for the WWF muscles on a 60 year old man.
:rolleyes:

Clarification on the knife/rebar bit.

When I saw the movie last night, it was my understanding that he was making a prop/propshaft out of the rebar to repair his boat, and then for the knife was using a bar which looked very much like a leaf-spring.

Yep, the rebar was for the propeller prop.

You've jogged my memory and I think you're correct. Thanks.

In central London you can easily pay $25 to see a movie. I can't believe how cheap cinemas are every time I'm in the U.S.
Wait a minute, everything is extremely cheap in the U.S.A.
They don't call it rip-off Britain for nothing.
Healthcare is free, however, I pay over $800 a month in National Insurance payments. The sum is linked to your salary. The only way not to pay this is to stop working, quite an incentive for some...

I saw the movie along with my wife. We thought it was excellent.

As a person 'Rambo' has matured. I think Mr. Stallone has a good grip on how Rambo turned out in the long run. Rambo is vindicated.

The scene showing the massacre of the villagers was 'powerful' in Hollywood lingo. I would put up that scene up for consideration of an AA.

The final jungle scene of Rambo brought tears to my wife's eyes.

Sounds like socialism
