Rambo V

One simply never gets old when it comes to knives...
Maybe the technique in which it is deployed ;-)
Go for it sly!

Well, at the end of Rambo (4), he returned back to Bowie, AZ, where his father lives or lived. And apparently in V he's fighting the Mexican cartels. So I'm guessing that his father gets killed by the cartel, and Rambo uses his father's old bowie knife when taking on the drug empire single handedly.

I liked the knife from IV, what I remember of it,should have seen the movie. If he is fighting the cartels, it should have a Southwest Bowie with Mesquite look to it or find the father's Bowie made by a Mexican maker, maybe something of a cross between a Searles Bowie and a Punal. Rambo's father could be a WWII hero who was one of the original frogmen.

On a less serious note, maybe he could unexpectedly come across Crocodile Dundee, since he was in Los Angeles at some time, Rambo can comment how that is a knife, and the two could work together to save some important politician (maybe president of Mexico or Governor of Texas) or border patrol or guardsman kidnapped by the cartels along the border for ransom in retaliation for increased drug seizures. The writers can have a field day with this one.

Hello friends, I come to present my recent work completed.
It is a gaucho knife, in steel 52100, integral, handle in Amboyna, sheath with apply in ostrich.
I hope you like it.

Or something a little more primitive like the Rambo IV knife...

No need for a partner... :)

"You don't seem to want to accept the fact you're dealing with an expert in guerrilla warfare, with a man who's the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke. In Vietnam his job was to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition. Well Rambo was the best." - Colonel Samuel Trautman

This may have been true 40 to 50 odd years ago. However, the sad fact is that unless you regularly use your skill set(s) you forget things, the muscle memory, and your timing is lost ... in effect you revert back to a "rookie", for all practical purposes.

As for partners, I think he had some in Rambo III, if memory serves, because " "An Army of One" was not viable anymore. He (Rambo) was too old or too outnumbered, or something.
Let him team up with Walker, (of the Texas Ranger's) "The Expendables" team (be interesting to see him do the rolls of both Rambo and the Expendables leader. And, it would especially be fun to watch the knock down drag out one left standing Alpha Male fight those three would get into) :)

Always wonder why all these movie guys aren't like Arnold and 6'6" tall or something rather than short like Sly.

It doesn't take someone built like Arnie or 6'6" tall to be "the best, with guns, with knives, with his bare hands. A man who's been trained to ignore pain, ignore weather, to live off the land, to eat things that would make a billy goat puke, to dispose of enemy personnel. To kill! Period! Win by attrition." :p

Not Rambo. I'm sure he practices the art of guerrilla warfare everyday. Take me for example. I practice using the toaster oven everyday and I'm pretty good at not burning the toast. :D

Need to get a toaster oven since my wife for some reason uses the oven to make toast versus a regular toaster. Wonder what Rambo would do? Probably get the toaster oven....

Especially when the enemy forces are near and he is trying to avoid detection. :)

No reason to worry about detection. He was in a mine and is skilled at making a smokeless fire. Need proof? Do you see any smoke in that photo? :D

How about a Buck 120 or Cold Steel Trail Master? Rambo could stop by a sporting goods store before crossing the border to pick up a few supplies, including a knife!
