Randall's Adventure & Training JUNGLA Backpack

good looking pack. seems durable enuf. can't get a good look at the waist belt. heavy padding? removable? a well designed and well padded waist belt is essential for heavy loads. dig it that you have incorporated a place for a water bladder. also mandatory here for a usable pack. like the outsdie pockets. a tad ocd about organizing and can't have enuf pockets on a pack. look forward to seeing more specs. thanks!

Looks like another RAT product I'll be purchasing

looks bad ass!! makes me mad tho i just bought a new pack, excited to see the final product!! nice work jeff

Jeff or Mike,

Is there going to be a set of straps on the bottom for rolling up a tarp and poncho liner on this pack?

It is a great design and great looking pack. I just could not allow myself to buy it when i can get packs that will suit my needs that are made in the USA. No a shot at you guys at all just a personal policy i cannot break. I am one of the people that would be willing to spend an extra $50-$100 on a pack to insure it is USA made. But i understand a lot of people are not.

Great! That's something I'm needing!

Can you share what company in Colombia?

Quick photos of a proto we got in. We are going to make some minor changes such as adding the MOLLE cross straps to the shoulder straps. These will be offered in colors. They are very heavily built and high quality. Water bladder compatible. 3 compartments with compression straps. Shoulder and waist straps stow in the back of the pack out of sight and out of the way in case you just want to use this as a carry bag on a plane. We do not have all the specs on this yet as far as cubic inches, etc. Mike knows more about this project than I do so he may be able to answer more of the questions. Should be shipping these to customers around the beginning of Spring. No pricing yet. Made in Colombia.

A very nice looking PackJeffLooks like a Condor?

There are tabs at the bottom that you can use to tie something to the bottom with. Also, you can secure items under the compression straps on the side.

You can see them on the bottom of the pack in this picture (I'm assuming these are what you're referring to, Jeff.)

Should work great with some paracord.

velcro patches are GAY. They collect dirt and the patches fall off or wear off anyway. Not only that but velcro is loud and to have a patch tear off your pack while hunting or in an E&E situation would be rediculous. If members of these forums don't have the ability to thread a needle and sew a patch onto their pack, then a quality Columbian made daypack isn't going to save them. That's my opinion, and the first alteration to any of this soft gear I buy is to remove any and all velcro. Just my opinion.

One thing I love about my Mountainsmith Maverick that I see on very few other packs are large side pockets. They're great for organization, stuff a hat, gloves and pullover in one and other necessary items that require quick access in the other-like sandwiches for lunch or navigation equipment, etc. Maybe you could look at adding something like that to this pack, increasing useable volume without adding much bulk.

Looks good. I'd like to see the inside.
Are the caps on the zipper pulls easily removable? Might be nice to replace with the whistle from in Izula kit.
I'm rebuilding my wife's BOB and this might be good for her. We have had problems with several of the recreational packs not holding up; straps get caught, abrasion wear on bottom from rocks, etc. But being female she thinks that she stands out when carrying one with lots of molle straps. Looks like this might have a good compromise. What colors will it be available in?

The velcro patch on the top was/is there for Mil and LEO personnel to change and remove various patches they use in different OPS. AT least that is my understanding. It isn't there to put any kind of permanant log or decoration on. A lot of uniforms and mil/leo jackets have velcro on them to remove insignias in certain field operations where a particular patch may get you killed quicker than the next guy who isn't wearing say a 2nd Lts patch:)
