I got goose bumps.

It looks like an FK2 blade shape....is this accurate?
It is an FK2 but I scaled it down about 8% and also shortened the blade a hair to get the blade down to 4". The FK2 is a full sized fixed blade, size was no constraint, but being a folder I felt it was an improvement to be slightly smaller than the fixed blade it's based on. The FK2 has a pretty long handle by design. This handle isn't undersized but it isn't longer than it needs to be because I want to be able to carry it in my pocket.

Does own both the UF2 and BFK and have any thoughts on 1 vs the other and a preference between the two?

I have a UF2 on pre-order, do I need a BFK? 😬😬

Well, of course you need both :)

I do prefer the UF2. A little longer blade, more practical due to less height. Blade thickness is similar. The BFK has a stronger tip, more handle to grip, I carry it instead of UF2 when I don’t want to worry about it .... even though both are indestructible. Note that I understand that the UF2 has Nathan’s lifetime warranty.

If you can’t decide, buy an FK[12] instead :) That is more complementary to the UF2.

I love that you are going for a 4” blade, Nathan. Was worried it would be yet another tiny folder in my drawer :)

It's funny to me that my dogs can drink out of mud puddles and eat rotting meat they find in the woods, but people (highly evolved) will get sick if we don't wash our lettuce properly
I have witnessed the flip side with dogs, though, for the record. Giardia, ingesting small bones, etc. Though for the most part, they're pretty impervious.

But yeah, humans can either be very fragile, or very hard to kill.

Our puppy was throwing up the other day. Looking at the puke, Jack had eaten a bunch of rabbit droppings. I figure, if you're going to eat another animal's shit, and you get sick, that's really not weird.

(in Mallory Archer's voice) do you want parasites? Because that is how you get parasites.

The scariest was when we rescued Skyler back in 2013. She got away from my wife in our woods right after Thanksgiving and got into something. (Turkey carcass, other dead bird or thing. Never knew what, for sure.)

She was dehydrating out of both ends and I noticed fine bones in her vomit. Took her to the vet, and $600 later got her back good as new. Told my wife that it was a pretty expensive rescue as we'd only had her for a few weeks at the time.
