Interesting idea you got there. I might just try setting some bait at the same location...not valuables but a sack on the beach with something that might be considered desirable by those who would commit such an act, maybe a cheap knife of some sort...don't think I'd get the original knives back but maybe get the MF'er arrested...hmmm....an old or broken MacBook perhaps, something easy to tag that they'd hold onto long enough to get tracked...wait, doesnt any phone issue an alert when it's around a non-paired AirTag for a while? How long does that take?

TBH, I don't know. Never had an iPhone.

I just read about them recently, and how some folks have used them to stalk unsuspecting victims, so Apple tried to implement some features to prevent that, but people quickly found ways around that 😬

Pros and cons, depending on the use/intent.

Pump prices at a Chevron Station in Walnut Creek, CA today - 06/11/2022 -- where I had to fill up a loaner car that I was provided while my car was in the shop. Fortunately, it only needed 4 gals which was still far cheaper than a rental car or Uber would have been.

The car called for Premium but I just filled it with Midgrade just on "principle." $7/gallon. Really? LOL! ;)

Besides a couple of gas stations in Palo Alto and/or Mendocino, probably the most expensive in the country. But .... you can get safeway reward points 🤣

Thanks, brother. In the scheme of things, being disappointed about a bunch of well paid athletes losing in a tournament is pretty small beer.

That said, it is both disappointing, as well as fodder for optimism about their future at the same time...so there's that.
