They're notoriously hard to spot.

so hedges CAN'T talk? my universe is shattered

^ for those not in-the-know, there are some caveats:

These prices are at the Chevron station which is infamous for posting the highest gas prices anywhere in the nation. If you check their online reviews, they get something like a whopping 1.5 star or thereabouts outta 5 stars. Most people who leave 1 star reviews are online trolls who have never been to this gas station but there are also some whimsical 5-star reviews in the mix. I don't believe that this establishment has a minimart but it does have a mechanic shop and I'd hate to find out what their shop and repair rates are! The owner will tell you to take a hike if you don't like his gas prices and if you run out of gas out there, you will literally need to hike your way outta there to the next not-so-nearest gas station.

ETA: as for down south here in the sunny Sandy-Go-Go county, I only gas up at Costco and the three immediate Costcos within 8 miles radius of me in various directions are currently offering Regular (per GasBuddy) at 5.95 / 6.03 / 6.09 respectively. By using my Costco-ChitiBank Visa card, I get 4% cash back annually on gas.

WTF!!!???

Pump prices at a Chevron Station in Walnut Creek, CA today - 06/11/2022 -- where I had to fill up a loaner car that I was provided while my car was in the shop. Fortunately, it only needed 4 gals which was still far cheaper than a rental car or Uber would have been.

The car called for Premium but I just filled it with Midgrade just on "principle." $7/gallon. Really? LOL! ;)

Regular at $6.799 IS Premium!!!

Mendocino town ready for tourists season

I've visited and stayed overnight in Mendocino multiple times and am very familiar w/this gas station. It's notorious for it's high gas prices and is often mentioned in "news" articles as having the highest gas prices in the country.

I've never purchased any gas there because I usually fill up in Boonville before heading to Mendocino, which is my normal route there, and then fill up again in Ukiah (or elsewhere) on the way back home if necessary.

Yes. They are the only game in town and coming from the south, they are the first place you get to after a long drive with no options. But, if you can make it 15 miles to Fort Bragg you can get it considerably cheaper for the low price of around 6.50$ for regular.

The Giants swept the Dodgers at home!!!! 🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉🥳🎉

They beat their aces -- Buehler, Kershaw and Urias -- 1, 2, 3 and even Kimbrel in relief in Game 2 couldn't stop them.

So much for the big payroll roster. It doesn't get any better than THAT!!! :)

Go GIANTS!!!! LOL!!! :)

Anyone own/have owned and have any thoughts/experience with Arno Bernard iMamba?

Never heard of him/it before. Not a fan of the onlayed versions of the iMamba but the sleek lines of the plain Ti version (which apparently is the only version currently available for sale) "speak to me."

It reminds me of a Sebenza. One negative to me is that the blade at 3.4" is just a bit short for me (I prefer folders between 3 5/8-4") and, at $450 (plus $20 shipping), it's approaching my buy limit of $500 and the closer it gets to that limit the more I have to "think about it."

But, now that you've mentioned it, I'll be keeping an eye out for one on the Exhange (and elsewhere) to see if I can catch one for less. ;)

If you haven't seen it yet, here's a BF thread where it's also being discussed: Arno Bernard iMamba Praise.

He's a well known and respected South African maker. Steven65 Steven65 can fill you in much more about Arno Bernard.
Only a pleasure Elliot.
Arno has been a member of the Knifemakers Guild of South Africa for many years. He is a fixture of the Blade Show in Atlanta and he has done many other knife and hunting shows in the U.S. over the years.
His hunting knives have gone all over the world and he is famous for making knives with African materials like Giraffe.
I have not seen this particular knife but from what i have been told by people I respect, it's nice. :)

Glad to FINALLY see the stock market crashing! But, I do feel the pain of those who are "all in" w/no way out. :(

Been out of the market well before the run up but I've thought for YEARS that it was over valued. I'm still sitting on over 1/2 $1M in cash waiting to reinvest it and I'll be a buyer when the Dow falls below 20k again. :)

If not, I'm still happy to sit on my cash because, inflation notwithstanding, I'll still have more cash on hand than those who continue to hold thinking that the market will "rebound."
