No thank you, Andrew. @Mike157 already graciously offered his Mule which I also politely declined. I hate to borrow things. Martin tried to ply me with some of his knives before I bought my first CPK and met the same obstinate response.

But I do appreciate the offer, very much.
I don't consider it a borrow but an excepted observation 😉

I would honestly like your opinion also !

I like magnacut and you trying it out and telling me what you think is much appreciated!

Poor Nate...

All these folks offering to send mules hither and tither, and he's wondering why not one person has offered to send him their pony (even just to 'try out for a little while')?

😂

Adam used the expression Oofta which is another slang variation of the expression Uffda which in turn reminded me of ol' man Dennis who used to go by that handle on here. I used to tease him at times about his one or two CPKs (it was an EDC1, right?) and he was a good sport about teasings and things. He has since gone from among us. "Life is all memory, except for the one present moment that goes by you so quickly you hardly catch it going."
He posted it for sale as a joke...I bought it anyway😂 Still carried in my wallet, the wife uses it as her lucky scratcher coin🥰 Miss that crusty ol' bastid.

If memory serves me faithfully, he had actually posted it for sale back when for an inflated price of $400 or maybe $500, I'm kinda foggy on it now, before he sold it to you in the mid $200s just kinda wondering what that thing was worth! He got some flack from me back then, little did he know that he was quite prescient and ahead of his time because those PJ $230 EDCs of yesteryears are now $500 in the secondary! Thank goodness that he never owned a Shiv or else he'd be asking $1K! The audacity of it, LOL... Wherever you are ye curmudgeon ol' bastid, we're thinking of yer!

I tried a sebenza and love it , but I think the heat treat could be better on the blade..... if they push the numbers they said on magnacut....I will own one once more are available in double stud insingo

I like 20cv and family for what I do.. but I can chip it with the edges I push... I have a spyderco MagnaCut mule I took to my liked edge and used at work... felt like it held the edge about the same .. with me getting the "bitey" edge I like without getting chips from bumping steel stands I use to dispense plastic sheeting

What edge do you like to push that helps your 20CV chip, and what would you recommend to prevent that?

I posted in a Hinderer thread tonight about how my CPM-20CV XM-18 blade was chipping on the edge, and that I also scratched the finish on the side of the blade where the spanto gets fat near the tip, while trying to fix the edge. I got distracted touching it up and made it look ugly - I stopped while it's still dull and chipped, but before I made it worse.

I mentioned that maybe I needed to go to 20 degrees, but was waiting to hear back from others there. So, while a CRK in S45VN might like a 15 degree edge, my 20CV Hinderer may not. What say you?

I've run a couple 20cv folders at 12 per side.. that's too thin ,I could've micro beveled to maybe add a little strength but, 12 is a but stupid lol

I'm surprised you have a chipping problem on that thick of a blade, my only hinderer left is at 17 per side and that puts a pretty big bevel in them , same with a CRK I believe those are around 20/22 from the factory

I have a large inkosi in S35VN and my biggest complaint is how soft it feels. At least it's a little easier to sharpen? I don't know... I think I prefer if it was harder, especially in a folder where I'm more than willing to give up toughness for better edge retention.

I noticed the same thing with the sebenza I had an opportunity to try out

Lots of folks (including Nate, IIRC) mentioning that CRKs were leaving performance on the table, due to softer heat treats (specifically wrt their S35VN).

Glad to hear that they're at least, using Larrin's ~63HrC for MagnaCut.
