Is 12 GB of memory still considered good?

I just looked at a couple models for which you can choose the configuration. In one case the difference between 16GB and 32GB is $55. I usually snap up those upgrades and hold off on the high dollar bleeding edge options.

That's storage, not memory. I think the memory on those is 4GB.

Not jealous at all, just recognizing it for what it is. By your own description, and knowing that it’s strength is in its total and absolute control over its environment - it’s very reason for offering the stability and security it does - would you say it’s more like the Rebellion, or the Death Star?

Granted, a smiling, shiny, people-friendly happy Death Star, but a Death Star nonetheless, no?

It's strength is in technology and engineering. I'm worried about many things, the Apple "Death Star" is pretty low on the list.

Couldn‘t agree more - I’m relying on them, as well.

I don't know about Macs, (as Chromebooks do what I need them to do quite conveniently, and Google satisfies the "evil" side of the equation), but I do really like my iPhone and the missus her iPad. (I don't know if they are worth the price, but they do their jobs well.)

It seems the California gov behaves in a whiplash fashion, after this soft on crime, "let all the prisoners out of jail" policy, they will whiplash back to a 1980's robocop style, shoot first policy... then blame the robots.

Correct. 4 GB RAM for a stinking PHONE. 12 GB RAM not enough for a full-blown computer to do computer things. 16 GB RAM is minimal with Windows 11.

I am Apple free and very happy. Asus and HP laptops with 16 Gigs RAM and flash drive storage for everyday tasks. And my daughter builds custom tower computers with high end processors and video cards for the real intensive stuff.

Had an iPhone and absolutely HATED it. Last three phones have been Samsung Galaxies and I'm very happy. I will say, however, that the latest iPhone my daughter got is a big improvement and the camera can finally take a decent picture.

Seems to be working ok. She had a 7 with a barely functioning battery, so an upgrade was past due.

Yes, I hope it was clear that I would get at least 32GB on a new machine.
