Random Thought Thread

Random thought: I hate grass. Specifically lawns. I absolutely loathe owning a lawn. I have to spend my time maintaining the sprinklers and keeping the grass alive, otherwise my property value depreciates. Gotta mow the damn thing too.

Utah is a desert and everyone has a flipping lawn. We waste water on this garbage every year.

This is why I'm spending the weekend building a large gravel pad and shed. Later on, we'll be removing grass from the borders of my yard and replacing it with drought tolerant, sun loving, winter hardy plants. Going to reduce the grass foot print on my property as much as I can, without having a "weird" yard or gravel pit.

Fully agreed. I've been on a mission to reduce the amount of grass in our yard for a while now. Raised beds, planters, trees, and now a big-ass garage has made my life easier. :thumbsup:
 
Today is an epiphany… I’ve said countless times over in countless threads and IRL that the HDFK is my favorite knife. Ive only used used this knife for minor kitchen stuff. Now it’s time to put my knife up or shut up. From now on this will be the only fixed blade I use, that includes daily carry. These CPK’s are made to be used damnit. I don’t ever plan on selling it, so keeping it pretty for the resale factor is out the window. I apologize to the Well used RMD that is my current EDC. You’ve performed quite admirably, but you’ve been relegated to a well deserved retirement. Godspeed HDFK, you have a long and tough, but rewarding road ahead of you.

I haven't mowed my lawn in years. But the downside is that I have to feed my landscapers and have to help them pay for college after their servitude is done. The youngest landscaper is 11, so I'll have to figure out what do in about a decade.
