Up until very recently not much. The engine only has 165k so was just doing regular maintenance as things cropped up. However, had it at the mechanic recently for a fuel dampener that needed replacing, so figured I'd have them do the injectors while they had the intake off.I am curious what you have done under the hood since you spent that much time/effort making it look great.
Looks good!Up until very recently not much. The engine only has 165k so was just doing regular maintenance as things cropped up. However, had it at the mechanic recently for a fuel dampener that needed replacing, so figured I'd have them do the injectors while they had the intake off.
After starting it and running for a few minutes it began making odd noises and stalled out. Apparently it jumped time (which it had done only one other time ~6 months ago) and in the process a piston came into contact with a valve or valve cover and some shit got irreparably damaged. So now I'm going to have the engine rebuilt. Yay. So much for cpk funds for awhile.
Figure I've put enough work into it already to just sell it off. She was pretty crispy before the restoration began.

I'm not sure. Girlfriend's dad is the one who painted it. That's the original color though, got the paint code off the jamb and found it for a good price.Looks good!
Was the original paint single stage?
Considering that I work out on Sundays, too...Today's random thought...
When I was a kid, on Sundays I'd start dreading that I had school the next day.
When I was somewhat older, on Sundays I'd dread that the next day began the work week.
Now, on Sundays I dread that I have to work out the next day.
You just can't win. Maybe we should abolish Sundays.
(Of course, I consider it a privilege that I can still work out and hope to do so for a long time to come...with some luck.)
I didn't say I don't enjoy it. I just dread getting started.Considering that I work out on Sundays, too...
Day of rest? Pssshhhh...
While I can fully admit to the first two, I have to say I don't think I ever really dread(ed) the prospect of working out. It's one of the things I actually enjoy.
That looks awesome! New paint, rebuilt engine… man, I would hang onto that! I love seeing older rigs being used and taken care of. Thank you for sharing!Up until very recently not much.
