Lots of beautiful knives out there that I personally have no use for but others might. That includes $1500 HDFK’s 😳
I have a <$500 alternative that will do everything I can throw at it. Perfect example
Well Nathan the Machinist Nathan the Machinist sold us our HDFK’s <$500. So there is that.
But yeah, I’m not buying at $1500 either.

I spent about $1500 on a knife I really wanted, but after handling it I just knew I would never use it for what I wanted to do with it- it was just too nice to be busting brush with. I sold it.
Axes get swung in nasty places (for me) sometimes, and hit rocks and such so I sure would not spend a lot.
I certainly admire the beautiful competition cutting axes and can see those folks paying more for sure.

I have often wondered how much the axes cost used in the Lumberjack Championships such as the one in Hayward Wisconsin.
Drooled over the Tuatahi website before, but I don't do anything that even remotely justifies a $6xx - $7xx axe

Idk which ones they use up north, but these racing axes from NZ run $468-692 for just the head. I think this style is commonly used for racing.

I presume (hope) those prices are in NZ dollars, which would make them roughly $295 US.
