I got a gasser for one of my Ford trucks. Not only is the power and torque inadequate, the fuel economy is abysmal.
I had kind of thought that maybe the lower cost for gasoline would offset the reduced fuel economy, but that is not the case at all. Diesel would probably need to be $10 a gallon before gas would make sense if you're heavy.
It is simple and cheaper to operate though.
Do you get to count the miles they are pushed or towed in the MPG?View attachment 2578044

I had an F350 back in the day w/ a 460 gas engine, I couldn't ever get past a gas station! Been driving diesels ever since.View attachment 2578044

I can’t remember, is this the one your daughter trashed, or did she trash the other one?
Or was it that she trashed one truck with the other truck?
Maybe the better question is, do you own a truck that Abby hasn’t trashed, and does it get good gas mileage?
They never go away, it's a good thing. That was terrible. Your poor daughter deserves better from me.
It’s still funny as hell, though. I can’t believe how nice it is not to have to worry about children.
They never go away, it's a good thing.
It’s awesome that there are people like you with families that feel that way.
I have nothing against Fords. I've had great Ford trucks ... great GMC trucks ... and great Toyota trucks.I can’t laugh at the Ford jokes because I have one now.
Trailer is packed. All systems checked. Propane topped off. Tires filled back to 65psi. Lights checked.
Truck beds loaded. Just got to drop the trailer on the truck in the morning and head out. It’s a Ford so I’m taking some tools with me this time. I never took tools or extra parts with me in the Ram Cummins.![]()
Those are great pictures I’m hoping that this campout happens again. I’d love to see more pictures if you don’t mind sharing.I spent the better part of a week in the Bitterroot National Forest a couple of weeks ago and it was a pretty excellent and much needed experience. Exceptional food, lots of knives, great company, and the scenery wasn't too bad either.
I haven't settled on quite how I am going to write about everything; there is a lot to tell.
I'll throw a couple of teasers here for now though. Montana is an incredibly gorgeous state; I could get used to it there in a hurry. We got a glimpse of the Northern Lights (I barely was able to capture what I did). And one of the absolute highlights of my trip was the opportunity to handle an original Colclesser Bros made Kephart - the outfit that started it all. It's pictured below with some of the finest reproductions/interpretations that can be found.

Yeah I’m pretty confident in this new truck. It should be great for years. It’s when you start looking on the internet and a few people have issues and make it out to be like it’s across the board.I have nothing against Fords. In fact the only truck I've owned that I could say was really "bad" was a Dodge ... transmission went out within 6 months of buying it new. After getting that replaced, the rear-end started growling still in the first year so it had to go.
Ohhhh wait till we meet....... lolDammit, that’s not how I meant it. I meant it’s great that there are families that will stick together, and be supportive.
As you may have guessed, I’m a total and complete asshole. NO ONE wants me to not go away.
That's the attitude!Nathan the Machinist can you believe with this new Ford 10 speed I am getting deleted MPG numbers. I have been averaging 22 mpg unloaded. I’m curious to see what I get tomorrow!
