Opinions and practices vary. It also really depends on the wounds, condition of the wound/healing, and locations.

Letting dogs lick them clean is generally frowned upon though🤣.

The swedge kind of ruins it for me. I was very excited for this model. 🫤
The lines look all messed up with the way they did it.
I was fiddling with it in the dark in front of my desktop (thats what she said) and the shadow almost covered up the swedge. 🥲

Yep, exactly my thoughts too. Think my little Busse experiment may be over. FBS with dull teeth, TGULB with wrong finish, and now this. Oh well🤷‍♂️
 
I had close to 30 of these guys traipsing through my back yard a bit ago. The hounds did not like it one bit.

I had no idea that was a Busse or I wouldn't have commented. He helped pave the road that a lot of us now walk on. I'll go edit my post.

I made a solution of 50/50 peroxide and water, dripped it on with paper towel under the edges and used the paper towel (folded) to gently lift around the edges toward the center, and then kept my thumb over the wound line to remove without pulling on the sides. Looks pretty good.

Washed, put a thin layer of Vaseline after drying, put fresh sterile bandage and loosely wrapped with vet wrap for support.

Think we're good. Wife's a friggin' trooper. (Had to snip off one small piece of suture sticking up at the base of the hand past the end of the wound channel.)

Watch that spot where you snipped the suture off. I had that with a knee surgery and it left a spot to get a staph infection started.
