There is a possible connection between eating squirrels and Creutzfeldt Jakob - so don't :)
Whoops.... It's only if you eat the brain and/or the spine, right? Right!?

A 1997 Lancet report stated one patient contracted vCJD from consuming squirrel brains, and a later case was identified in Rochester, NY where the patient consumed squirrel brains, but in neither case was causation proven. Evidently squirrels are not known to suffer from vCJD, but other mammals do. Regardless, I think I'll hold off on the brains from now on. In any event, I think I only tried it once and wasn't impressed.
