Some day I'll be there, goddam that man is a wonder.

Eric you don’t need a big ass stud like the ones on Bill Bagwell’s sheath, and I don’t want it too thin if I’m going to be putting a sharp blade down my pants.

Very nice. What's up with the cord? Also, do you know if Paul keeps the pattern? I assume he does and wouldn't need the knife sent to him...other than maybe the new dagger grind.

OK, same idea as the Japanese/Hartsfield style sheath cord I guess. I've just never seen that incorporated into the Bagwell style/stud sheath. Must have some strong retention. I think I would just tighten my belt. ;)

Thanks Mark, sorry I was late to reply, I’m at work. Thanks for the reply Lorien. The retention is not too strong, but approximately 1/4 of the handle is in the sheath so I requested the shock cord as a fail safe. I just loop it around my belt, and I don’t have to worry about the sheath coming out with the knife.

In the recent past, I have let go of more knives than I have acquired. Primarily I only own, or rather used to own 3 brands:

Carothers in fixed, Shiro and Spydie in folding. All the Shiros have gone to greener pastures for now and maybe for good, as I'll be waiting for Nathan's debut in the folder market; I like Spydies but there's nothing new on their horizon which excites me (wanted a Paysan which turned out to be a mini disaster!).

Anyway, random thoughts:

Bring out more CPKs because I'm getting antsy :D

I think that Paul may keep the patterns, but he usually likes to fit the knife to the sheath, so a knife in his hand is helpful. Mike

I’m sorry, I forgot to answer the second part of your question Mark. I agree with Mike, I think Paul likes to have the knife in shop. I sent him a UF for the brown one, and I took advantage when Marc had his UF there to order the black one.

I hear ya! I was almost tempted into buying an Infi Ratmandu last night. The thing is, I purged all my Busse’s in favour of CPK. Craziness!

I’ve gone with CPK for fixed blades and Chris Reeve, Spyderco and a SAK for the folders.

Just ramblin’
