Was hoping to get a hint, because on Labor Day weekend with with College Football starting, I have tendency to be somewhat intoxicated by 8 o'clock eastern (This is a tradition here in the south, and I will not break it):D GO VOLS

Didn't attend college for undergraduate studies in the good Ol' U.S. of A... Where I went to college, the predominant pro sports were Soccer and Cricket! My NFL team just bailed town this year and went to LA-LA land, so I divorced them too... I bid adieu to NFL too... Bunch of greedy summabiatches

Enjoy the alki on my behalf too Bud

I lived in England for 3 years, Was stationed at RAF Greenham Common in Newbury England! Lived in a town called Kingston Bagpuize outside of Oxford!

^ my point of view that's just spreading the love in another venue and helping us keep our lights on. The problem comes when someone swoops into a frantic Friday sale and snags work out from the hands of the end users, putting themselves in the middle and skimming. But buying multiples on a pre-order doesn't prevent someone else from getting onto that order. It's open right now. I'm not sure I see what harm they're causing in this instance? *shrug*

not a bad Friday afternoon. 20 NASK protos sold in a nano-second. ( I didn't get to participate....not that it would have mattered) but I did jump on preorder.
Preorder......thru first 78 posts.........123 edc2s ordered before edits........approx $30 K in sales ......as I said not a bad Friday Nathan/Jo

I agree with your view on the pre-orders, but the poor duffas who came in #18 on the Friday sale and thinks he got a knife may be a little bit pissed when he finds out that 3 people ahead of him bought 3 knives each. I can see these guys saying "to hell with it, I'm never going to get one of Nate's knives" and spend their money elsewhere. Just my humble opinion. I could be wrong.

SNORT! OINK. OINK.

So I picked up a handful of Leviton OSSMD-MAG for use around the house. I see them specified for hospitals and LEED Gold projects all the time. Been trying to adjust the sensitivity of the PIR and ultrasonic sensors for two days now. For residential bathroom use (or a similarly confined space) where the air register is located within eight feet of the sensor, I would go with the the PIR-only OSD series as airflow disrupts the ultrasonic relay from the OSSMD.

I just use the switch by the door. Maybe I'll go all high tech one day with those motion sensors..

Actually.. they are much cheaper than I thought..

As many can tell, I spend a lot of time on this sub. In fact, I'm a CPK dweller and borderline squatter! I've been on this sub since its inception and had seen quite a few things, including what some may call anomalies!

Case in point: this is the first time that I've seen preorder requests for 3 x anything from a multitude of buyers, I think that the relatively lower cost of the pattern (as compared to something much larger) had a big influence
on the rush on these and I suspect that all the originally estimated ~ 175 units will be pretty much spoken for after all said and done. This is not necessarily a bad thing if folks on the tail end are willing to wait longer
than the faster ones on the draw, because they will be guaranteed their EDC(s) (extraordinary acts of Mother Nature and other flukes none withstanding) at CPK prices and not some inflated secondary market prices. I don't need
t repeat what Nathan has already stated (almost sounded like detracting) in his OP.

Now onto your point: from my past experiences these preorders have been getting ready in the batches of about 20 at a time in the past. I think that this process will even speed up a bit in the (near?) future with this
preorder because Mark has joined the Carothers plus the investment into the new equipment which is up and running. Also since I had asked for antique micarta, I know by now that my order may get delayed a bit more
and the few guys past my spot who had asked for less fussy scales may end up getting their orders delivered sooner than me. That's all A-Okay with me and I think that the little anomalies here and there with just shake
themselves out.

My statement above is not a wholehearted fanboy statement but something which I have by now witnessed from these guys based on imperial evidence. Sure they really have no absolute control over profiteering in the
secondary but by and large, over 90% of the folks I have come to know of are either end users or collectors. As for spending money elsewhere, it's a capitalist system and folks vote with their wallets. I already did so by
switching from another maker over to this place.
