Hang in there California ... Washington ... New York ... I think several will follow suit. I think we can beat this if we all do our part. For many alive now this may be the first real sacrifice on a large scale to be needed. Lets honor those who came before and sacrificed so much ... staying home and skipping some creature comforts is a pretty easy thing if you put it in perspective. If we look out for one another it will make this easier.

^ it’s called dumbing down the populace. The less the masses are able to think critically, the more goes around for the ruling echelon and then less of the pie for the rest. I get all that.

The key is critical thinking and coming to a conclusion based on evidence and facts. Remember that facts and truth are singular and there is no alternative version of them: once a person grasps this simple notion, then can try to pass on to his own kids and/or others. I am not saying thinking against the grain is a bad thing per se because after all most of our species’ triumphs have come by crushing popular beliefs but the key factor is that beliefs are not facts based on proven evidence!
Very well said! A good example: the ruling elite (including most of the mass media) says "guns kill people = guns are bad", so "the answer is, get rid of guns", and the typical unthinking person says "yup, that must be the answer", and of course if the same message is repeated over and over, then "it must be true".

It's sad and scary that many people can be so easily swayed.

One of the coolest reasons for me to hang around here in this subforum with the regular CPK’ers is because irrespective of one’s finances, net-worth or perceived social status, most of you are doers. I used to be lazy So I often took the path of least resistance to have things done for me but I’ve learned some tricks from our CPK denizens, do I now apply myself more trying to do the simpler things on my. I find this new zest for doing very gratifying do I want to thank my incognito role models :)

If something really bad happens to me during this CoronaVirus crises, I hereby bequeath my CPK-K18 to Jo the Machinist Jo the Machinist

No joke and I ain’t kidding Jo! The other one under my name can go to Grog. He was alive and kicking still as of this past Monday. In fact, he even very graciously invited me and family to head up to Sidney, IA if we wanted to bugout and gave me directions, a rendezvous place plus instructions for his family about us. No joke! He’s really a great guy despite being a total flake and very Screwy :D

ETA: I also heard back from Grog today Friday 3/20. He’s well and still the same ugly ogre
