Thanks for the feedback.

I'm more of an Axe guy

Big choppers are new to me, but Larrin's steel has me excited enough to make some larger choppers.

Thanks for watching.

Had the same thoughts, which was why I continued skipping ahead until I got to the penny nails near the end.

The only saving grace I could say, about the chipping away at the 2x4, is that although his accuracy is pretty poor, he at least understood the concept of cutting a notch (one of the reasons I like watching Dr Dan's videos is his impressive consistency and accuracy, precisely nailing a previous cut with full power swings).

It's hilarious to me to watch YouTube knife/chopper reviewers who obviously are so clueless about bushcraft, that they just take the knife/Chopper and hammer away at the bottom of the cut, making pathetic progress, then try to comment about the knife's performance. Yeah, I'm going to give that as much credit as a guy magdumping into the dirt, then trying to tell me his thoughts about the gun's accuracy.

Yes, it's only a 6.5" Blade.

With the piece of steel I had, I couldn't go larger since I also wanted to make a fillet knife and a Gyuto and several small hunters and puukkos to test thinner, harder edges for edge stability.

Ah. With that in mind I would like to clarify that I did not say or mean that you or your video was painful to watch. Your 2X4 cut was painful to watch. Super painful. Had to skip some of it. That's not a criticism of you, your knife, or anything meaningful about you or your work. It was an observation about the painful to watch 2X4 cut. It's okay. You were using a small knife. You're not a practiced 2X4 cutter. It's fine. Not a big deal. Don't lose sleep over it. The real purpose of the video was to demonstrate the durability of the new steel. Which it did. Not your ability two cut a 2X4 in half with a small knife. Which is weak. Super weak.

:p

Yup, used what I had, could have edited it to keep attention span more entertained but than get fallout from not showing it honestly.

Is what it is.

Bigger knife will be used in the future, I've just always liked this smaller size too.

Seeing around corners will come in handy when the wife realizes what I’ve purchased.

Yeah, I would have had some 'splainin to do had I won today. Luckily the folder is a bit easier to hide and my wife apparently has become accustom to seeing a different folder in my pocket everyday because she no longer asks about them. Good luck with that!!

Thanks for posting the videos (yep, you definitely look more comfortable swinging an axe).

What was the hardness of the knife again? The nail chop results certainly look promising.
