Random Thought Thread

Ian Anderson borrowed it from Beethoven and Glen Fry stole it from him.
I believe that Don Felder, not Frey, came up with that . . . the ending was really a duet between him and Joe Walsh. Composed it and recorded a demo in a beach house he was renting in Malibu. They discussed it in "The History of the Eagles" documentary. Whether Felder stole it from Ian Anderson . . . maybe. I don't know. Not sure what song you had in mind (Living in the Past?). Wouldn't surprise me, that's for sure.

Now my daughter is a real musician, unlike me, and I have listened to her play "Für Elisse" on the grand piano in our living room many times, and the connection never occurred to me. But now that you mention it . . . I can hear it for sure. Definitely repackaged, though.

I’ll call dib now. If it comes down to the sword or the wife, I’ll take it off you hands. Just send me pics of whichever one of the two you are getting rid of.
Reminds me of the old wanted ad . . .

I thought it was today. Or was yesterday? I’m confused but don’t take much.

The calendar turned to Spring in the wee hours of the AM yesterday, making today the first full day of this Spring :)

Yay. Winters over. Can I stop buying kerosene now?

It all depends on how much money you have left over for kerosene

Got a dough recipe handy?

I fairly recently began dabbling in making my own. Most haven't turned out too bad, but something seemed a little off. Your dough looked pretty damn good.

This is just a store-bought dough. They're better than what I can make. They have their yeast and specialty flour figured out for doughs better than the stuff that I can buy at the local grocery store. I haven't made it in a while so I might be misremembering but I believe it was one cup of hot water with a teaspoon of yeast, teaspoon of salt, tablespoon of sugar. Dissolve a little bit of flour in there and then add a tablespoon of oil. Canola oil not olive oil for cooking. You mix it up until the oil is emulsified and then you can add three cups of flour. The key is to have your oil emulsified instead of floating on top when you add your flour, otherwise you get your flour oily and it won't mix and this makes for splotchy dough. Adding a little flour to the mix before adding the oil helps emulsify the oil better.

Ideally you can put it in the fridge and let it age a couple days before you take it out and proof it and make your pizza. It seems like it helps the flour dissolve and cross link into a better gooey shmoo. This helps it hold together better.
