(Rasco's knife pic added.) Forge Expansion Celebration! -- GIVEAWAY! --

I'm in! Thanks for doing this! Very good of you.

I would like an 8 inch Wharnecliff blade in 154CM. Under-ground. Overall length unknown, but I have large hands so a decent thickness/length handle for a large hand, please. (I'm 6'5")

This handle and guard, please (borrowed from your webpage gallery):

The handle of some sort of dark hardwood... your recommendation is welcome.

If a sheath comes with it, one like in the picture in black, please.

That is awesome and very generous of you.

It'll sound odd to some but I'd like a fixed blade version of a Sodbuster/Mudbug.

Green Micarta, 4" - 4.5"L X 1"H full flat ground 154CM. Like this but with different pin location and without the lock cut-out.

After nearly a month of destructive testing with various heat treat recipes with liquid nitrogen cryogenics and my new Kiln I now feel confident adding in D2 and 154CM to my steel offerings.

In celebration I am holding a giveaway!
The knife to be awarded has yet to be made and will be a full custom made to the winners specifications within the following criterion:
- Will be made of D2 or 154CM
- Blade length no greater than 10 inches.
- Will use "standard" handle and guard materials. Exotics may be used but only at the winners expense (cost only)

In order to enter:
- As of this posting you must have at least 99 forum posts.
- Post to this thread a picture or sketch of the knife you would like should you win the contest and which material you would like... feel free to ad discussion :) (entrants will not be held to the knife they post as the exact knife we settle on for their prize and I encourage everyone if not familiar with my work to check out my website and facebook in order to have realistic expectations of my style and capabilities)
- Each member can only enter once.

This contest will run until 8AM Central time January 14, 2016.

It's awesome that you're doing this. I'd love to enter but there are people who genuinely have a hard time coming up with funds for a solid working knife and it'd be nice to see someone who genuinely needs one getting it.

I hope and wish that you add a "requirement" to post a couple of photos in the winner's hand and maybe how they're planning to use it.

Anyway, good luck to everyone entering and congrats to whoever wins this great giveaway.

Unfortunately I am not doing folders yet. .. moving to high alloy steels is a step in that direction... hopefully next year... when I make that upgrade I will likely do another giveaway ;)

Hopefully the winner will grace us with follow up review and pics but once they have the knife i figure theres no way to enforce it so i leave it to hope. :)

Hmm... neat idea.. stacked micarta washers... keep meaning to do a stacked leather handle but never even thought of stacked micarta....

I am in!!! Thanks for the chance. My knives have to pass one test, will they perform during hunting season. A drop point, convex edge, that stays sharp is my style.

I'm in, thanks for the awesome opportunity.

I'd love a 4-5" 5/16" thick convex or scandi grind blade in 154cm with a handle shaped similar to the Becker tweeners with black micarta and red liners..

What a fantastic way to celebrate!

I would love to see your interpretation of a Loveless-style drop-point hunter (without the naked lady picture please). Handle material, I've been itching to get something in orange or red camel bone. Even if it costs extra. I'm a huge fan of wood too, like Cocobolo.

I will second the loveless. Changes I would make would be a not so large bolster. If I were to win I would like some sort of burl(I'm not familiar in the varieties) with blue liners, mosaic pins, and if you do them, a tapered tang.
I got to hold a custom with similar specs and materials not to long ago and I have been thinking about it ever since.
I really have no preference on the steel, but would probably lean towards 154cm.
This is a tremendous giveaway!

Wow, awesome of you to do this, I am so in for the chance! Thank you :)

Something similar to this blade shape, I like the look of the thumb ramp on it.
Blade length around 4.5" to 5.5", 154CM 1st choice, D2 would be fine also.
Handle design and materials entirely up to you, though I would mention I like attractive wood handles.

Thanks again

Amazing giveaway. Thank you for your great generosity.
It would be by far my coolest knife.

I've been wanting for some time a nice solid scandi-type knife with a cool-looking handle and good ergonomics.
Not a fan of rust or of sweating over a sharpening stone so 154cm it is.

Something like the Helle Odel, but feel free to add your own touch. I wouldn't mind paying a bit for more exotic materials. A slightly longer blade blade would be nice too.

Here's the one for me, and double ground Please in 154cm.
