Rat Hunter

I do agree on one point, CS doesnt measure up to Lynn's never ending hype.:o

but, I fail to see your point? There is a Fallkniven forum on KF, I've been a long time fan of them, but I've not seen the comparison you speak of. Gonna go check it out and report back. I hope your not blowing smoke...:(

http://www.fallkniven.com/test.htm OK Juiceman, heres the page ........... please explain yourself :grumpy:

Peter also indicates that he tests "other" manufacturer knives, he did not mentioned which one by name........but if you go back and check the forum threads closely, you would find out who these "other" manufacturers are.

In case of Swamp Rat, where is the test that shows that their knives can survive a nuke meltdown? are they kidding when they put that ad up?.........I am not discussing and will not getting into legal issues here, but please practice what you preach, eh.

Cheers,

Juice

I dont know, but I have been looking into Swamp Rat Knife, they said rat can survive a nuke blast......well, that might be true..........the concept might be to market a knife, pretty much so.

As a knife collector, I sincerely tell you, you only need 2 knives.......one is for chopping heavy things like wood and bones of animal and so forth, the other one is for small detailing works, like whittling tree branches to stick into them hot dogs to be put over the camp fire...

If you need more heavy duty work, then an axe is what you need............

I dont see a need for a knife, like most companies advertised, to chop concrete. Companies say this and that, but what work is the wilderness man with 2 knives........and maybe an axe.

Cheers,

Juice

Previous to this post was a discussion about the Rat Hunter; a small, comparatively speaking, D2 blade designed as a hunting/skinning knife. In reading your post, I fail to see the segue.

That being said, welcome to this side of the forums from your usual haunts of Asia & Political. Enjoy yourself here. If you decide to try a Swamp Rat product, I'm quite certain you'll be pleased. But, if you still have any confusion as to why you've met a certain amount of hostility, then you might be want to review the progression of this thread and see if your post was:

a - relevant
b - courteous
c - adds anything to the discussion already underway.

What you basically did was walk into a conversation already taking place and drop a "stink-bomb." "As a forum poster, I sincerely tell you" these guys will accept you. Hang out, have fun, and experience the addiction of Swamp Rat. But please don't troll...

The link is all in good fun...

You didnt answer my question.

Where are those tests? They are only bending their own knives, you stated that they tested Swamp Rat but I dont see it. Untill I see actuall side by side tests I call your bluff, or bull.

Fine, call me what you want. I read on the forum (and if you care to go check) that he actually tests "other" manufacturer knives for the sake of comparing the results to his own products. Certainly, he is not going to spell out their names. It is the consumers whose, after using the products, would speak about it.

And if you are curious enough, why not send you RAT pack knife to Peter and ask him nicely to do a test for you. I am not defending RAT knife, you are.........

Cheers,

Juice

Well, thank you............. like I say, I fail to see how my activities can be classified as "trolling". If you have a open discussion to promote your branded products, someone going to walk in and inquire about how can your products be that good.

Are you going to have something to show them?, any test results, any comparasing studies?

Let us be rational and discuss the matter sans emotional upheaval, shall we?

Cheers,

Juiceseller,

Please feel free to follow the links that have been provided to you in this thread. If you simply refuse to acknowledge the information that we've given you or somply refuse to believe what your own eyes are showing you then there is certainly no point in debating any relevant issues with you.

This is a Swamp Rat Knives forum. You are certainly more than welcome to stick around and join in our discussions if you truly wish to seek information. However, it is apparent from your posts that you don't wish to do anything but rile the forums with irrelevant claims.

If you wish to discuss Fallkniven Knives, there is an appropriate forum for that.

Edited to add: You have gained a reputation on these forums for this trolling behavior. The moderators have taken notice. If you wish to continue contributing on these forums, I would be careful.

Hey, juicy -

We forum members claim what we claim from real-world use, and without comparisons to anybody. If you doubt what we say is true, you are welcome to buy a Rat and try it out for yourself. At that point, you will either become a believer or have something to say here that is actually relevant to ... anything. Until then, give up your troll ways before it's too late!

I thought so, you made your own conclusions, adding in the SRK knives (although un named) without them even being named in the tests, speaking of the tests you stated it was on the website of which its not. You backtracked claiming that it must be Swamp Rat just for the sake of it. It all boils down to you wanting to cause a firestorm. Making claims that you cant back up, making assumptions, pointing fingers, and claiming name calling when its just not there. Very typical trolling.

Greg hit it on the nail head, I did the research as well, you've got a rep for trolling and its all coming to one conclusion, keep it up and you wont last much longer.

I've had quite a few e-mail's with Peter, and consider him a friend. I think I will give him a shout and see if he has actually tested a Swamp Rat knife. If not, I might get a collection together and send a Fallkniven A1 off to the Swamp and see how it compares, head to head. Might get some interesting results eh?

Did I call you anything? I did call bull:jerkit: I do call argumentative little snot. ;) But that is ok, its a free contry, at least I think it is where you are at? btw, where do you live?

Yo Juice, do you actully get out into the wild much? I own my own piddly ass little 150 acres
in some fairly rough countryside.

There is no way in hell I can get along with just two knives and an axe. If I don't have three or 4 knives on me, they are near by in the truck or mounted on the 4wheeler.

I sincerely have a whole pot load of collectables, but I SINCERELY have a pot load of users for numerous different needs around the place. .

Whew,,,sorry for the soap box. I guess I had flashbacks of all the deer I cleaned and processed and all the other things I did around the place a few weeks ago, and the various blades I used..

hey juice, all I am seeing from you is trollish behavior. You are blatantly ignoring the facts, and the test data that Eric kindly laid out. Not to mention the real world testing that most Rat owners carry out.

It appears I was correct in my initial response.
you don't appear to be seeking information about Swamp Rat Knives, you seem to just want to agitate this forum with nothing but baseless slander.

I fail to see any reason for this behavior, but looking back on your posting history, you appear to be a low level troll at best.

Why not try to shape up? this is a very friendly and welcoming forum, as is BFC in general. But the plank awaits trolls with no desire to learn or contribute positively.

Juice,
I see that you must have missed my post about the open invitation to other manufacturers to meet us live and test knives, in an open live demonstration. You seem to think you have some pull with Fallkniven, if you do drop them a call or an email and see if they'd like to join in a live test of their knives to ours. We'd be happy to meet at a show and do just that. (and we have also tested many other manufacturers blades, we don't speak about those tests publicly but we do know how others compare)

If you decide to stick around start your own thread instead of hijacking one, I assume you do this to try and start a firestorm without drawing immediate attention. You are now on my radar and others.

Just got a Rat Hunter on trade yesterday, had to trade my Howling Fat for it, but I think it was worth it. Really like the heft, feels a lot thicker than 3/16". Mine's sterile (there goes my plan for breeding;) it...

It does a good job of splitting small kindling for the woodstove.

Does anyone know how many of these were made without any markings? It came with the leather SWKW belt sheath.

For those who have handled both, how does this compare to the SAR Rat?

GregB

Back on track.
When I get my Rat Hunter in the mail, I will be able to give some impressions comparing the SAR and the RH. I don't own the SAR any longer, but I know how it feels in the hand.

Fair warning then, I will email Peter with this thread and see if he is willing to join as you have suggested.........and if he decides to join you, AND if the outcome of the results turn out in either their favor (or yours)....... Then will you post it here for ALL to see?

Meanwhile, there is no purpose chatting on, I just dont like to see "one-sided" democracy forum.

Yeah men are many, it is the Neah man that hopefully open people mind up a little.

I try to be outdoor as much as I can.............The "2-knifes and an axe" thing is mainly to save weight...........you can carry more, but can the back take it while hiking all day.

Juice,
Do you not understand a live test, these are done in front of live people at a live show. People that are there will see the results with their own eyes. This is much better then any written report of the results, however, if you would need a written report I imagine I could handle that. No manufacturer has ever taken up the challenge so I've never had to worry about it in the past.

BTW, there is no such thing as a "one sided" democracy ;) and what did you expect when you came to our forum (the Swamp Rat forum) and start bashing us. Did you expect everyone to sell their Swamp Rat knives and go out and buy Fallknivens because of your great praise for their product. You have no credibility, you have provided no real data and you have nothing to lose (except for your membership on these forums which I predict won't last long)

I will let you know what I find out about Peter answer (I just emailed him). No need to be symantec about the issues, are you moderating the forum to compare knives or are you moderating playground for boys, where you are just a bully?

You would almost have a point- if you actually had any knowledge of The knives you are speaking of. But- if you had, you wouldn't be saying "Nay" about anything.

Nobody here goes to other knife forums and shouts "nay" to the people who like those knives. That is just bad form.

Then again, that's what trolls do- shout "nay" about anything, just to stir the pot.

What is a "one sided democracy" forum? In case you haven't noticed, no forum is a democracy.

Take note that Busse/Swamp Rat has an open invitation to anyone who wants to go head to head with their knives in a live demonstration at a knife show.

As far as I know, nobody has yet stepped up to the plate.

Edit:
OOPS, Eric was much faster. . .:D

LOL! Yes, no need to be an antivirus program:jerkit:
Are you so new to the internet that you dont know better than to call moderators names and insult the forum? Not a wise move, bucko:thumbdn:
