Rat Hunter

Yes, I have "donated" my SERE folder to Cliff for testing, he has indicated that he would post the results online once it is done.

About the silly things that going on here, I dont know what made me tick, but when I saw the picture of that rat holding that knife like saying it will survive a nuke blast, I got kinda excited.

I thought that advertise was kinda what we call here in Yankee-land, "tacky" commercial. But that is just me since I dont buy anything that is based on hype........because I know it is often NOT an intelligent choice to do so.

I checked out that link you have sent me, and the only thing I thought was silly was the concrete chopping test, here is what Peter (he goes by the name VG-10) got to say:

http://www.knifeforums.com/forums/showtopic.php?tid/751983/

Maybe you did it to sell more knives, that is your biz............but I, imho, think Peter should donate an A-1 for you to do the same thing. It was NOT a silly test as he (Peter) indicated. Heck, Cliff stabbed knife into "hard" substrates all the time..

I leave the forum in peace now, thank for being a sport. And your RAT fans, shall we bury the hatchets?...........until next time,LOL

Cheers,

Thats a good movie.
But the difference is, if Eric is Gary cooper, then the Troll is a metally retarded hamster with a squirtgun. Not what I would call a fair fight.

Eric, I will not bother juicy any more. It is apparent to me he isn’t really playing with a full deck- and his comprehension skills seem lacking.

But to answer his question:

Juice, you said

I will respond:
I have not had any of my Swamp Rats rust- it is a simple matter to wipe the moisture off the edge after use. They are great because they hold their edges for an incredible amount of time, and through heavy impacts and abuse. Even several impacts with a granite rock didn’t chip the edge of my battle rat, and a bit of steeling fixed it up. They are also unconditionally guaranteed with an unbeatable warrantee. I do things to my Rats without a second thought that would utterly destroy any blade you own.
If you actually do a little research you will find that Stainless steel is not a good choice for a heavy use blade.

Did you not hear what Eric say? play nice!..........at least I can think like man, how about you, can not control your anger?............let me help you, let it goes, man.......... go play with your RAT!

Cheers,

Juice

I wish you would have started your posts on this forum in such a manner as post #81 and we would have got along very well. Thank you for your post and I hope you stop back by or decide to stick around. We are a friendly bunch, really we are. I have no hard feelings and if you decide to stick around I'm sure there are plenty of threads that you can add your knowledge to.

As I've stated many times when asked about the concrete block chop, the intent is not to show how well the knife (a Battle Rat in this instance) will chop concrete. The intent is to show how the knife will react when you accidentally hit rocks when using it in a real world situation. The concrete block is just a good easily repeatable material to use for the demonstation. Anyone that has ever used a big knife in a real world situation has hit rocks, often the knife will chip or worse. The concrete block chop is to indicate that our knife will not chip, it will not break it, only dull it. The knife that was used in this test was resharpened by me without any special equipment. I would rather have a knife that you know will not break, or chip out if/when you hit a rock than one that chips and has micro fractures running up the edge. This test demonstrates this. I wish more manufacturers would do these tests to show the public what happens to theirs when such a test is done. A lot of criticism comes because of this test, but I don't see many others stepping up to perform it.

I am not angry.

Your tone is still kind of rude and awkward. Is it because english is your second language?

JS,

Just to explain a couple of things to you. The Manufacturers Forums that exist here are here because of two things. The first being a forum and the second they are supporting this place. At least have the respect to realize that this place would not be here without all these companies who actually step up to the plate to help out with the largest informational site on the web.

The actual forum of the Manufacturers is not a place to be bashing products without sound reason and sound testing or even sound reasoning to back up your position and your are developing a strong pattern along those lines. That's fine if that is what you want to do, but do it in the right place and be prepared for people who might have actual experience with a certain knife to challenge those types of accusations. Posting some of the stuff you have posted here and in other Manu forums comes across much more as trolling trolling than constructive comments.

It would be best if you took those kind of comments to another area of the forums. General or knife testing would be much more approprite for the type of comments you are making. (Please take that suggestion to heart.)

Just a heads up to the Swamp Rat Community. Juiceseller has been banned from the forums, he was found trolling on the Boker forum. I thought maybe he was trying to change his ways, I guess not. No need to continue any discussion towards him or about him. Lets try to get this thread back on track or at least get the forum back on track.
