Rat Hunter

Alright guys,

It's a shame that some people come into these forums with the sole purpose of getting into these exchanges, but let's not forget why we like it here. If he's gone, I think that's best for us and him.

Let's just let it be.

He told me if I didn't come up with $29.95 before Thursday night, he would beat me up?!

Back on track.
When I get my Rat Hunter in the mail, I will be able to give some impressions comparing the SAR and the RH. I don't own the SAR any longer, but I know how it feels in the hand.

I got my second hand Rat hunter today, it needs a bit of a sharpening, but it is a very impressive little blade. The Buybrown Kydex sheath is excellent, as usual.
As far as comparing it to the SAR, they are a lot different. The SAR is thicker, longer, and heavier- although they share similar handle shapes. the Edge on the RH is ground much thinner than was the SAR, I assume so that it will serve as a better slicer/skinner. I also really like the look and feel of the Satin finish.

IMO, if this had a coating, it is pretty much what I would consider a tactical howler. An awesome blade!.

Heck yeah, It so fun being hier that I forgot to laugh! remmember this poem:

If you dont innovate, you will eventually be forced to renovate
If you dont renovate, you will eventually be forced to emigrate
If you dont emigrate, you will eventually be forced to liquidated

I am helping you out here on ideas on how to improve your products, but you came back attack and ridicule me. That is why I like Sal Glesser, he listens to you, the consumers and he always "innovate", and that is where I spend ma monies.

Cheers,

Juice

What we have here is a person that knows so little about knives and steel they are not even in the right county, much less ballpark.

I would love to hear what the people in the know at Fallkniven think about their uber knowledgeable fan base.

I can hear 'em now, "Run over there to another forum for a while. Yea, that's it. Hang out somewhere else and spread all that knowledge around."

Fallkniven didnt pay a dime, OK pal.........I tell you, if you make excellent products, stuffs sell itself.

Cheers,

I think that about sums it up.
Either you are very clever- and a comedian, or just very dumb.

Some man like this man are like wolf pack, when a wolf hears other wolf howl, it justhowls after them for no apparent reason.

Not to insult your intelligence, but your reply are not very "substantial". Tell me why you like your RAT knife and so on...........I asked Eric about why Swamp Rat still use 51-0000? tool steel which tends to rust...............if I look for a survival blade, the least I need is something that would rust while I am "out" there, eh.

Cheers,

Juice

Ok Juice,
I saw on one of your posts in Reviews about your comments to Cliff Stamp, it appeared you liked what he has said in the past. Go to www.swampshack.com click on reviews read some of Cliffs reviews, some of the real world reviews, Cliff even did a review of one of our knives against a Fallkniven. Read those, then if you have actual questions come back and ask them. If you have feedback give real feedback, not you guys suck because you are not Fallkniven. It is obvious you have never used or handled one of our knives. I really would like to know what other knives you have owned besides Fallkniven, I have owned many Fixed Blades, including Fallkniven, I'm going to stick with Swamp Rat and Busse. So what others have you owned and used?

Everyone else leave Juiceseller alone on this, he claims he wants to "help" lets here some of his suggestions. Balls in your court. What have you got to say?

:D:D

Actually that is not correct, you asked critically if our knives were so good why they needed a coating. If you would have asked why we use SR101 a variation of 52100 I would have told you why. Here it is, it is an excellent carbon steel with years of use by some of the top bladesmiths in the world. It has extremely high performance and can be differentially heat treated to increase the performance, especially in our large fixed blades. We coat the blades because our knives our used in real world circumstances were you are not always able to clean your knife everynight. Because it is a carbon steel it will show some oxidation if it is uncoated, and the coating protects the blade. It has nothing to do with performance it has to do with care of the blade.

Next real question please?

For some reason, I've got a hankerin' to watch High Noon...

Thats a good movie.
But the difference is, if Eric is Gary cooper, then the Troll is a metally retarded hamster with a squirtgun. Not what I would call a fair fight.

Eric, I will not bother juicy any more. It is apparent to me he isn’t really playing with a full deck- and his comprehension skills seem lacking.

But to answer his question:

Juice, you said
“Tell me why you like your RAT knife and so on...........I asked Eric about why Swamp Rat still use 51-0000? tool steel which tends to rust...............if I look for a survival blade, the least I need is something that would rust while I am "out" there, eh.”

I will respond:
I have not had any of my Swamp Rats rust- it is a simple matter to wipe the moisture off the edge after use. They are great because they hold their edges for an incredible amount of time, and through heavy impacts and abuse. Even several impacts with a granite rock didn’t chip the edge of my battle rat, and a bit of steeling fixed it up. They are also unconditionally guaranteed with an unbeatable warrantee. I do things to my Rats without a second thought that would utterly destroy any blade you own.
If you actually do a little research you will find that Stainless steel is not a good choice for a heavy use blade.
