RC3 disapointment

What a stand up company this is. Reminds me of Jerry and Busse knives. Except less booze and more talk of panties here. :D Or maybe about the same.

I'm pretty sure my RC-5 will never need the warranty but it's nice to know it's there and this good.:thumbup:

Tyrkon! You went off the reservation! Get back to the Busse forum for your quota of Kool-Aid!

;)

But a lot of factors come into play when batoning...getting a knife part way into a really hard knot and then landing an angled blow can have some negative effects on any steel if the blade flexes at the wrong point, the energy has to go somewhere and something tends to give it's just simple physics. It's important to make sure the energy of the blows are directed straight in line with the blade of the knife.

That's what I was trying to allude to mistwalker. Some really hard, knotted up gnarly old logs are going to have something to say to just about any blade. :)

Ok sorry if I missed it but I still want to see pics of the knife with the issue. Not because I think its cool but just to see where & how it did happen. thanks

Great CS by ESEE!!! This kind of response is what makes me really respect a company even more, you guys are awesome!!!

Honestly folks, we don't offer this warranty or customer servcie to try to make you buy more knives, although we do appreciate it. Knives, for the most part, are bullshit anyways and we all buy them and other things out of want more than need. The only reason we offer this type of service is because we are consumers too and feel that every consumer should be treated with the best in respect and trust when they decide to purchase from a company. So, this thread is more about thanking you, the customer, than it should be about thanking us the business. We make a profit from sales. This is how we make our living and we could not do it wothout the trust of our customers. (won't do it without that trust either).

It sounds like we have found ourselves in a little "win/ win" situation:thumbup:

-thank you and your welcome:D:p

This entire thread is testimony as to why there only needs to be one choice when it comes to buying a knife. RAT errr ESEE !!!

Amazing!

They certainly are number one on my list for Production fixed blades.

Wow. I'm pretty astounded by the level of customer service I'm witnessing here.

What I'm seeing seems to blow Emerson out of the water. I'm not talking smack here, just making a comparison between the fact that when one of my Emerson's liners started wearing and needed to be replaced, I had to cover the shipping which is quite disappointing and here where RAT/ESEE made the offer to cover international shipping for the customer.

I'm definitely confident that I'll very much enjoy being the owner of the RC-6 that I have arriving tomorrow now.

i just checked this thread to see if there were any pics but nothing...

actually i saw another pic of the junglas and izula... and it was nice... worth checking this thread...

and ESEE you guys rock... :D

So I was in town recently checking out some BM folders at Plat-a-tac and I asked the guy behind the counter "Do you stock any RAT knives, you know ESEE ones?"

"No... sorry"

"Okay, I'm after a RC4 and can't find any local stockers to see it in person"

"I don't know what knife you are talking about..."

"Really? You should check them out, they have this unbelievable warrantee which is no questions asked replacement"

"That sounds like a stupid business practice to me."

"Riiiight ...." Then I walked out and promised myself never to buy knives from Plat-a-tac!

I killed a RAT one year ago, too. see here
Due to the really good customer service and a new RC3 I got from RAT I really trust in RAT or ESEE so I bought a Izula and a RC4, too.

RAT, please dont change!

Regards
Michael

Did this ever get resolved? What do you guys do with the destroyed knives? Melt them and make challenge coins? Put into some display of dead knives? What happens to these guys (the knives) that are broken? Always wondered, cause I like keeping stuff that served me well but wears out or kia :) Hahaha, do they get made into new knives? Always nice to know that some stuff gets a new lease on life :D

This is one of the reasons I bought an ESEE knife a couple weeks ago. Warrenty like this.

There are very few american companies, taking care of there customers like this. I applaud you, and you have earned my continued business. when you find american companies, making quality products, and offering, no bullshit warranties, you need to stick with them. You guys must have got your business ethics, from mike dillon. thanks

This came in yesterday:

Hi mike,
I was wondering what your warranty on the rat izula is. I locked my keys in my truck the other day and used the izula to pry the door open so I could hit the power locks with a coat hanger. The knife broke in half, and I'm not sure if that is covered. Also if it is covered, who do I send the knife to?

Thanks Mr. Smith

He gets a new knife. That simple. Mike
