RC3 disapointment

I just read the first page of this post and I have to say I am very impressed! I own a couple of ESEE knives (RC-4 and Izula) and have been thinking of getting a couple more. The warranty and service ESEE is promoting here kinda guarantees I'll be buying another.

i am sold on the product but after reading this it just makes me want more.this kind of customer service is unheard of.it truly gives the customer cofidence in his purchase when you guys are behind it the way you are

It is service like I have seen displayed here, and the countless positive reviews I've read regarding ESEE/RAT knives. I will be purchasing one/some really soon! I can see why their customers are so loyal! Bravo!

Maverick. one centimeter is huge. Please post pics. Also send it back and we will replace it, no questiosn asked. Let me know what you want to do and we will get things rolling on our end to make sure you get taken care of.

Jeff

This is why we love ESEE knives. What other product do you have the manufacturer telling someone to send back something for a free replacement? You have to love a company that stands behind their product like this.

This came in yesterday:

Hi mike,
I was wondering what your warranty on the rat izula is. I locked my keys in my truck the other day and used the izula to pry the door open so I could hit the power locks with a coat hanger. The knife broke in half, and I'm not sure if that is covered. Also if it is covered, who do I send the knife to?

Thanks Mr. Smith

He gets a new knife. That simple. Mike

Amazing! Prying truck doors open? Good gosh, it's great to hear they're that tough.

My EDC/ starts with a "pocket carry" of 1 of my 3 Izulas. The only time one isn't in my pocket is in bed.

I had 2 of my "users" out tonight stropping the already sharp edges, getting them like mirrors.

Why 3 Izulas? Well, one's kind of a "safe queen" why not? What are the odds of breaking 2 Izulas in a day or week?

I might need that 3rd one while the other 2 replacements are in the mail! :D

so, is that 2 izulas broken out of almost 10,000? good record!

Well, tell us how much to ship it back then? We ship stuff overseas all the time via postal servce and it's reasonable. We will cover the costs.

And this is exactly why I will be a customer for life...

What exactly does the OP mean by 'batoning'? I assume he was trying to hack through a piece of wood with the blade?

Im brand new to knifes, but if he was trying to use a 4 inch blade as a hatchet, doesn't that seem like something that would logically result in his final outcome?

Hey Jeff/Mike,

Did you get pics or the blade back on this? I am very interested in seeing the damaged blade. The RC-3 is my "go to" blade, if I can only have one, the RC-3 is it. I have recommended it to about a billion people. So now I am curious as heck about this break.

All together, I have probably batoned half a cord of Oak/Maple/Pine with my 3, and have as of yet have to do more then touch up the edge.

Last I heard from him he was trying to find a good way to ship the knife back since the postal service there would not allow knives, but we haven't seen it yet. Looking forward to seeing it though.

Where have you guys been all my life (or more appropriately, the vice versa)? :)

Really diggin' everything about this company. Thar definitely be an ESEE5, Izula, and Junglas in my near future.

Please continue to kick ass.

Professor.

Gonna have to change the name of this thread
from
"RC3 dissapointment":jerkit:
to
"Dissapointing lack of photographic evidence":D

Obviously the real jewel here is the way in which ESEE conducts themselves with their customers. Very impressive! I don't have any of the new ESEE knives yet (just firekit so far) but I have one of the old R.A.T-3's in D2 steel that is awesome as is my H.E.S.T which I edc ..... 2x ESEE-3mils should be in the mail real soon and hopefully in time for my son's birthday. Awesome and vulgar display of class on ESEE's part.... thanks for doing what you do.

I emailed Jeff a few days before the BLADE started. The Postal Service wouldnt take it and i spoke to Fedex, and they were ready to ship it for $60! Now, Fedex doesn't have a pickup location in my town and the nearest one is 400 miles! Hence, i dropped the idea and emailed Jeff.

I have since then, stripped the coating and realigned the edge, first on a belt sander and then with my DMT, since this is my only knife at farm.

just another reason I'm SO glad I ordered an Izula from KSF a few days ago!! I've been lusting after a few other brands that will go un-mentioned, but this thread sealed the deal... it's ESEE all the way!! what a great company!!
