So, just because I don't have a lot of posts and no feedback, that makes me less able to purchase something from here?
That's kind of a backwards way of thinking. So, I need to prove myself in order to spend my money? And, apparently, if I share my opinion, my opinion is wrong? Yeah...

Your "opinion" isn't based in reality. Nobody said you were less able to purchase something here.....not sure where you got that from

It's just ridiculous of you to be saying that the exchange is bad when you haven't even used it before.....

I think what he meant was nobody is really losing much with you abstaining from the exchange since you've only been here a little while and haven't done much in the exchange anyway. Sort of how if someone was a first time customer at a grocery and saw one bad banana before exclaiming "well I'm never coming back here again!".

Conversely, you saying that a fraction of transactions gone bad of the transactions going on in the exchange every day are why you won't ever buy from there is kind of a backhanded insult. It more or less lumps in the good, honest, sellers and buyers, who take pride in their word and their efforts to make the exchange an honest place to trade and sell and buy. Comments like yours will only serve to agitate people who didn't otherwise have a reason to be agitated.

What I said was all the problems lately has caused me to shy away from making any purchases. That's my opinion. Just because I have not done so yet, doesn't mean that was never going to.

Brings back a memory of a member whose name was Jerry (forgot his username). The guy was a Police Officer, an upstanding member of BFC............................................and then all of a sudden deals started going South. No one would believe the guy was a POS.....................................................and then he showed his true colors; a scamming, thieving scumbag.

It does happen.........................

Wasn't he a Corrections Officer?

You need to reread what I wrote. I said it doesn't look like you have bought much from here. No where did I say "just because I don't have a lot of posts and no feedback, that makes me less able to purchase something from here". The only "backwards way of thinking" is your interpretation of what I said, which is clearly wrong.

But yes, you will need to prove yourself to some buyers before you buy from them. It is completely up to the seller who is sold to around here. I have denied folks based on their reputation, posts, and way of communicating. When I was new and made my first purchase I knew I had to prove myself because I had no rep here. That is how it works. Don't like it? Then I don't know what to tell you.

You can have your opinion, but if you share it, and other much more seasoned members and mods disagree, prepare to get disagreement. Don't like it? Don't share your opinion. This is a forum remember.

Yeah...

He made it up. Hasn't done anything on here then complains about the system with no actual experience. Then argues with folks by making up stuff. Sounds like we may be better off that he is scared of the exchange.

A great many transactions take place on the Exchange every day.....the vast and overwhelming majority without any problems at all. Feel free to shy away....more for the rest of us.

It's things like this that have caused me to shy away from purchasing ANYTHING from the exchange on BF.

So, just because I don't have a lot of posts and no feedback, that makes me less able to purchase something from here?

Please re-read your initial post, & don't be so sensitive to construction criticism. What people are trying to tell you is:

As long as you use good judgment, & take necessary precautions (always use PayPal Goods), you shouldn't have anything to worry about. This, along with BladeForums policy: no deal is complete until both parties are 100% happy, are excellent insurances that BF is a pretty awesome place to buy knives, either from a dealer, or the secondary market.

Even though there are instances (like this seller RAD), this buyer still has recourse via PayPals buyer's protection policy, & he will be made whole again.

I can tell you from personal experience, Sauer Sig, that this forum is not only a great place to find incredible deals on awesome knives, but also a wonderful place to meet some awesome people & friendships.

Best of luck, buddy!

Very well said and nicer than I could have put it. I hate it when people put words in my mouth...especially when they have no experience of what which they speak...

I am truly disappointed that this is playing out in this way.

To the affected buyer(S) I hope that the situation is resolved for you ASAP. Be it either your blades or your $s back.

And another one to the ignore list... why members throw all the time away that they have invested in the forums not to mention there rep over a little bit of money is beyond me.

RAD has not posted in a few days but WAS active just a few minutes ago, other members have called for him to be banned and I agree... at the very least his ACTIVE for sale threads should be shut down till this matter is resolved.

I first hope op gets all his funds or the knife resolved, as that should be the ONLY point of GBU.
It does seem that GBU has turned into the stomping grounds for certain members to attempt to turn into another area of the forum for adult conversation, name calling, chest pounding and belittlement. I THOUGHT the point was to quickly resolve the situation. That is how is was done less than a year ago. Short and easy. Now 5-8 pages go without a single answer and the person in the wrong keeps posting and selling, scamming, selling, cheating all the time. I personally look at post by such guys as, Kelama,Gizmoman, 338375, Wolfmann601, ken44, Doug C, Morrow, and RevDevil, ( and sorry to those I missed) and KNOW they have the situation under control and are putting down the dust dry, aka Oil Spill and the situation will get resolved. A lot of the other stuff on here more often is kicking up the dust and I look for Jerry Springer, lol, Any day. Lastly The op is 100% correct, and RAD should not be allowed to use this forum until the issue is resolved. As for saying the exchange is flawed, For Lords sake, stay out of the exchange. It is the best thing on this site, why, because it works and the above mentioned guys and Mods make sure. My hat is off to all of you for doing an outstanding job. It is not this sites job or paypals to fix anything. But this site does. And I have the Itrade experience to prove it. RAD ship the knife , refund the money, or be gone. that simple.

Communication is the key.

What excuse can he offer now? The injured hand excuse bought him a pass until 3/22, that no longer exists.

I am certain there are others right here on BFC that suffered an injury, illness, tragedy in the family while a deal was in motion that found a way to keep the buyer in the loop.

Now, your talk is starting to sound like a quack and your walk looking more like a waddle................

Wasn't he a Corrections Officer?

I am not certain, I thought he was a LEO. But this dates back to the early to mid 2000's, maybe 2003-4?

His username was something that started with a Un...............something.

I just have brain cramp with his username but remember vividly his actions. I even defended the guy in the beginning and gave him every benefit if the doubt until the evidence of his scumbaggery was uncontroverted!!!

Spoken words of a darn good man !!! Why is RAD still here ????

Because if we take action prematurely, we can hurt the chances of funds/property being returned. We try to help not hurt the chances of a....I want to say "happy ending" but I'm not going to. :)

But you did Morrow, so now you just cost me one tissue paper......

Seriously though, posts about 'not dealing on the exchange because this happens too much here' are just stupid (no better word, sorry)
How many members actively sell on BF?
How many perfect transactions are completed daily?

There are idiots/thieves everywhere, but if you really look at the numbers, this is an important problem, but nothing even close to a big one.

I am sure you are more likely to fall down the stairs and break your neck, then lose any money by buying on this forum.
Buy the right way (PP Goods)
Research who you are buying from. (This is a very rare case where that wouldn't have helped)

Read a lot. You will quickly see most people for who they are on BF, or any other forum...

Yes, I see, that clearly. I hope Rad was really injured and finds a way to be able to ship now. thanks for your insight sir.

This is looking pretty disappointing now.
OP I hope the claim goes through quickly.
RAD at this point you really just need to step up.
People make mistakes then they (should ) make it right. This one shouldn't ever have become a big deal.

He was French. Some sort of law enforcement according to him. He was fine for a time then stiffed a good maker. Others as well? His supposed supervisor was contacted and had no interest in helping.

Ed: Bill Siegle was stiffed. "Oliver Plomion" was the crook.

Ed: Sadly, remembering 2003 is not as good as recalling where I put my keys. 0___0

ED: Multiple victims
