I sold $60K plus of top notch CRKs in less than 3 months and this guy gets mad because he can't get a $1,500.00 refund, when the problem would only cost shipping fees. Sorry my friend, but I'm not falling for that one. Ask anyone. The quality and quantity of the pieces that I sold to the CRK community cannot be matched, and the number of grails that I've sold people is uncountable. If I'm mistaken, please let me know.
We alll are only as good as our last sale, and true charracter only comes out when there is a problem, not on the deals that go smoothly. Give the OP a refund(if that is his desire). The item was not as advertised, no matter if you were aware or not. Handling this well will benefit you and the buyer both. Be one of the guys that does the smart thing in these threads.

This level of activity sure makes you sound like you should have a dealer membership.

It's a bit disconcerting to read there are possibly five additional problematic transactions with the seller, with no negative feedback submitted. That's 4%+ based upon the 138 positive, and perfect, feedback stats, which is non-trivial.

Why do people drag their @$$e$ returning money? Keep the funds in your dang PayPal until the customer is satisfied. Sheesh. So many of these stories in the GBU of entitled sellers dragging their feet on sales like buying from them is a privilege they’ve afforded buyers.

Nail on the head. This is key to being timely when rectifying an issue with a sale. This always seems to be a common theme with folks that don't do business well here, that's for sure.

I think this community is hesitant to dish out negatives, interestingly.. contrasted with Yelp or Amazon where we will slap a 1 star on something so fast it’ll make your head spin.

If:
1.) You aren’t satisfied
2.) You informed the seller of this
3.) They didn’t correct the issue

Boom. Negative. The logic is simple.

Well, officially, he isn't selling anything...it's all F&F. Since the money was a gift, the recipient (we'd call him the seller) doesn't give two s***s about whether the sender is satisfied
Wouldn't it be a bitch if PayPal & the IRS caught on?

Because, as far as PayPal is concerned, he isn't selling anything...it's all F&F. Since the money was a gift, the recipient (we'd call him the seller) doesn't give two s***s about whether the sender is satisfied.

Understood and agree. Pretty much guaranteed that leaving negative feedback will result in receiving the same, even if faultless. Reinforces that feedback stats are but one consideration when trading and should be taken with a grain of salt. Not calling out issues does not benefit the community.

Good point about the negative received out of spite in return. If I were to leave negative feedback, I’d be sure to start a GBU thread explaining the situation. If the other party wants to throw down, they can come say their piece and the forum and mods can be judge, jury, and executioner.

Since I'm already in on this thread, and playing Devil's Advocate...

Wouldn't it be a b**** if PayPal caught on? Just don't mention knife or other perfectly legal items restricted by PP, right?

I was just going to recommend doing both when a negative is warranted.

It will help everyone else by explaining in detail why the negative was earned and also bolster your position if and when a retaliatory feedback is given.

Hey. I actually had done a few prior deals with Ryan that went fine. I was comfortable paying FF. He got me here though. Not sure GS would have helped.

I’ve heard G&S does nothing once PP understands knife is involved, anyone have more insight into this? I may be wrong so do not rely on this to buy GS or FF.

Retaliatory feedback is easily removed, I’ve done this on numerous occasions… just needs to be reported so a moderator can take a look at the situation.

The two times I had issues with sellers here, G&S got the money back with no hassle.

If not for the money (but that as well), it's worth it for not having the frustration you're going through now to only stick to g&s IMO.

For the sake of not getting lost in the shuffle, this was Brendtech189 Brendtech189 Ryan Smoliak’s response, note - no denial - clearly acknowledged condition issue - misstated amount:
