RESOLVED: Complaint for Ilbruche

# About Me:

I don't use friendster much, check myspace for ilbruche. I'm currently very interested in peoples eyes and have learned there is much to be found in them. I'm also looking to find the perfect environment in which to attain enlightenment. Been going a little crazy lately trying to extrapolate on the pontifications of other sophists. Most people grow OLD they do not grow UP. Up meaning that they improve themselves in someway. I've thrown away the idea that you should pigeonhole yourself and your interests. Thus when I grow Up I want to be an ornithologist, drummer, master trout fisherman, dancer, photographer, poet, artist, guru of propane and its many virtues, Yogi,

I knew an American girl in Japan like that once. She claimed to be a Buddhist and believed in karma. She was always spouting off about her "enlightenment" and how her way of life was better. She used to go out drinking a lot and steal bicycles to cycle home on. Claimed she was "liberating" them.
I'm sure ilbruche has conjured up some similar kind of justification for what he's done to you that allows him to remain on his "higher plane".

Thanks KC. I find it's not the amount of money involved in a rip off that bothers me most. It's the sense of betrayal that comes from having extended my trust to someone only to have them cheat me in return. It doesn't help at all if the guy doing the cheating is all over the internet presenting himself as some sort of enlightened being. If I weren't such a peaceable guy I might want to kick the little shit's ass. ;)

Hey Bruche! The "perfect environment in which to find enlightenment" is wherever your arse is at any given point in time. And one of the first steps in the process is learning not to steal.

Appreciate your effort SD. Don't make any problems for yourself over the matter. I keep returning to ramanon to poke around as a guest and have not seen him back since I made a post there myself.

Yes, let's keep the issue here on GBU. The deal gone bad was negotiated via PM on BF, so we're in the right place. Besides, as far as I can tell, bruche no longer visits any knife forums. He has also let his own blog site (Badger Hole) go to seed; there have been no updates there since 12/1/08.

I had no idea this thread would go so far when I initiated it. The response here is an indication of how seriously our members take it when someone refuses to complete a deal or even to communicate about it. Frankly, I am appalled that anyone would be willing to suffer so much personal and professional damage for the sake of two small pieces of wood, leather and steel. It's just not rational. If it were me, I would send the completed RIV and the Reeves hatchet back to the client with an explanation/apology for having taken so long. That would be a small price to pay for redeeming a reputation that has taken so many heavy hits. (Just sayin that's what I would do; I don't want the hatchet back, just the completed RIV.)

My friends, I've come to the realization that we're now at the point of beating a dead horse. Bruche may feel that he has won by keeping the Reeves hatchet, but I feel that I'm doing the right thing by knowing when to let go. At this point I'm going to drop my participation in this thread and forgive bruche for his shortcomings. I've been feeling increasingly bad over the last few days and my sleep has even been effected. I've been telling bruche "it ain't worth it bro", but the same is equally true for me. Bruche has taken a wrong turn in life and adopted a path that will only bring him further pain. I hope he can find the presence of mind to again change directions and find a true path to the enlightenment he seeks.

Thanks to my many friends, old and new, who have supported me in this endeavor. I will be hanging out on WSS, Busse, Swamprat, for sale and wanted to buy sub-forums much more in the future. Hope to see you all there. :thumbup:
 
Since his reputation has taken a big hit, he has probably decided to stay away from knife forums. At least for awhile.

When I was on Ramanon a week ago and a half, he was signed on.

At this point, I think that's highly unlikely. It's been 2 1/2 weeks since he asked for an address to ship the completed knife to. No knife has arrived and there has been no communication from Ilbruche providing a tracking number. It appears that Bruce has taken the path to disrepute. The fact that he hasn't appeared in this thread to explain what the heck is going on is very telling.
 
Well, it's sad, but at this point, I'd probably mail copies of everything to the local police. Maybe they can give him a ring and get it wrapped up.

Too bad it came to this. Everybody else I've dealt with on this forum has been great.

That's been my experience too Dutch.

Also, I forgot to mention that if there are any new developments (such as the RIV arrives or I hear from bruche) I will post again in order to provide closure for the thread.
 
well, I wasn't going to say anything, but here goes:

Bruce Carpenter has sent me one bad knife, and screwed up two others by letting them sit in a wet sheath over night with no protection.

The bad knife broke the first time I used it and the other two were so badly corroded there was no salvaging.

When I confronted him, he at first didn't respond and then when he did he acted like it was no big deal.

I personally wouldn't do business with the guy if it was free.

I don't care how good someone is at their craft, it is unacceptable behavior..

We all know that life can sometimes kick ya hard, but I don't understand how people can live their life lying and hiding from their obligations.

I hope you get the situation remedied. Not much worse in life than having someone steal from you and lie to you.

I hold out NO hope at this point that Bruce will suddenly change his spots.

We have all had our ups and downs in life, some more than others. People are who they are. Unfortunately, Bruce is an example of folks who frequent the forums who use others to get what they wan't by deceit, thievery and cowardice. In this case HighDesertWalker and bdws1975 and likely countless other good trusting members who thought they were dealing with a fellow forum member with integrity. They're faith in Ilbruche as a man of good character and high integrity was misplaced..

I applaud HighDesertWalker and now bdws1975 for coming forward to let others know what happened to them and to enlighten the rest of us of his criminal intentions. That is what the GB&U sub-forum is for and we owe a debt of gratitude to the folks that have the sand to speak up against thieves, cheats, liars and cowards.
