retired01: I do not recommend dealing with this individual

Ha. I haven't been on for a few days and look what I find. I too had a similar experience with Retired01. He wanted a knife I had posted for sale and didn't divulge to me he was located in the Netherlands until after the fact. I asked for a few more bucks for shipping as I wanted to double box it. Texas to Netherlands had me worried, I wont lie. I had never shipped an item intended for an overseas destination and this was a SHARP fixed blade. He went batshit on me, threats, etc. saying how I changed the terms of the deal, which I did i'll admit, AFTER I found out the knife was going a lot farther than the US (which my price included fees, insurance and shipping in the US). I felt bad afterwards so decided to sell it to him at original stated price and i'd take care of the extra packing materials on my dime. He stated it was a "point of honesty and he wouldn't accept the knife from me even if I sold it to him for $1". I told him honesty would have been telling me it was going to a different continent to begin with, which I then told him to shove it (in not so polite words).

a few days later I get an offer to buy said knife. It sells and ships to....yep. PineChaos.

Thanks for the clarification craytab.:thumbup::thumbup:

Goodness. Now he is threatening you?

Why hasnt this retired member piped in??
I see he has been on??
Puzzling And yet another added to my DONT DEAL with list...:thumbdn:

PineChaos is his contact in the US. I'm guessing who then forwards the packages to his location.

I will add that PineChaos was very friendly, paid quickly and had good communication after it arrived. It's my hope he kept it and didn't send it to Retired01, because I didn't want anything of mine to get to him.

That is what I suspected. What is with the members buying items for other members that the seller has refused to sell to lately? He will go on ignore now too. I don't want this retired01 guy to get any of my stuff either.

You did nothing wrong, he changed the terms of the deal before you did, you only were compensating for his edit.

In my opinion, this retired01 is trying to trick some sellers into shipping to Europe, even though that was not part of their intention. He then creates a lot of drama, hoping that the seller will change course, and go along with his scheme to ship overseas. That is probably why he wasn't forthcoming in giving the USA address to the OP.

I can vouch for Retired01, Rob is good people. I have had great dealings with him, and in fact I received a knife today that he sent me just last week. There may be a slight language barrier, but take the time to read and comprehend. Rob is a straight up gentleman, and man of his word, and I trust him 100%.

^ This, speaks volumes! :D

Of course, its also worth remembering that you came to knifehunt's defense...

Haha, the pot calling the kettle..

And retired01 should not have left a negative feedback.

...... come on guys.... there is no doubt you all have issues with one another and like to score hits. I have no dog in the fight other than (like many) getting sick of it appearing in thread after thread after thread. Please, someone take the higher ground.

What he said..............again....again...and again............

If you have any grievance regarding me or my conduct on this forum I'd ask you to please start your own thread on the matter.

That's quite a conjecture you have put forth there, do you have any evidence to back up your statement or did you make that all up?

I do forward knives to Rob (Retired01) in the Netherlands quite often. He has never tried to "trick" anyone here and his intentions are pure.
Any small discrepancy between him and the OP is none of my business. I try my best not to interfere with matters between other members and decide whether to deal with them based on my insight and communication with them, but to each his own.

Since I was grudgingly brought into this thread, I feel it necessary to share my experience with Tyler (Thewoodpecker). Before this thread was created I had no notable communications with Tyler. Upon reviewing the pictures he posted here, I noticed that he took the time blur out his own personal information, but felt no need to uphold my privacy, leaving my name and address unfiltered. For two days the moderators sent him multiple messages requesting he take my information down, but it remained until I filed a report with photobucket, who gladly took it down minutes later.

Personally I expect better of Bladeforums members. The vast majority of members I've dealt with here on this forum have been honorable, decent people who operate without unnecessary drama. In very poor taste it is to defame people when you've had no personal experience with them whatsoever.

Absolutely, trolling and dog piling, the two most commonly flaunted rules on the forum. Often by the same handful of members, derailing the subject at hand and bringing the attention to them instead. If the moderators didn't already have enough on their plate as it is everyone of those instances like this should be reported using the report function in the lower left corner.

You are right! It is purely conjecture on my part, after reading all of his past history, so I reworded my post. It still seems to me that he is trying to manipulate some of the sellers, and then creating a scandal when he doesn't get his way.

I will second that. No need for this here. Quite frankly, it's gotten rather childish and doesn't add any value. Let it go.

So when you buy knives for retired01 does the seller know you are doing so?
