I just received this one today. This is Rick's Frontpocket pattern in green canvas micarta and bullocks shield. This is my fifth of Rick's knives. It is the nicest example of Rick's work I've had, with the thinnest grind and wicked sharp. Silky smooth action, flush in all three and great fit and finish like we've come to expect from a Menefee Made. Enough rambling, here are the pics.
Pictures aren't perfect, but the knife is dang close. Check out those swedges! Needless to say, this one is going to see a lot of pocket time.
Josh, what is the closed length of your FP ?
I just spoke for Rick's first "Western Trapper", 4 1/8", ebony scales. I'm not sure what makes it "Western" other than it's a T.Bose pattern and that's what TB calls it.

I had a care package show up today from Mr. Menefee. Lot's a little treasures to help me in my own fixed blade knife making career. More importantly however the package also included my Mini Zulu. I couldn't be any more pleased and it was well worth the wait to get my first ever Menefee Made. The knife is everything I was looking for. A small, no nonsense package that will see a lot of time in my front pocket. Crazy sharp!
Thanks Rick. I appreciate everything.
Not the greatest of pictures, it was starting to rain and I got tired of cleaning off the drops.
Here's a knife with a bit of a story. Seems Ricky made a trip out to Indiana to visit a knifemaker. I think the guy's name is Bony Toes. Anyway Ricky was bein' generous and givin' a few knifemakin' type tips to ol' Bony.
And when he got back to good old Okie, he felt all reved up and inspired like so he made this knife. Called it a "Western Trapper" cause he had to drive west to get back home.
So, here it is: The "Menefee Western Trapper" ! 4 1/8" closed
Thanks to all, but we all know it's Rick that deserves our praise and has our admiration. I failed to say that the scales are African Blackwood. It's new to me and said to be even more durable than Ebony, and it certainly is black and very Traditional looking.
I'll post a picture of all my Menefee folders together next week after the Shadow Lanny's Clip is with me.

Jeff, yes, the blade profile is what really drew me to the knife. I think it's rather unique and useful for everything. nice long cutting edge and a sharp point. 'xactly what ya need ! I really like it also because it's a bit different from the profiles on all my other custom folders.
