Ring Guard Bowie Progression

that looks WAY better than the initial sketch:D
Outstanding work, Kyle!

Beautiful. I think I prefer the ring guard--but they both look splendid.

Maybe it's just me but we've been seeing a lot of clamshells lately? This is a good thing. :)

Caleb composed a very nice picture too. The only additional thing I'd like to see in that photo is the finished sheath.

I'll go slightly against the grain here and say that my choice for ivory would have been for something cream/brown in coloration. That's just my personal preference. On the other hand I've been known to (accidentally) wear one blue sock and one black, so my preferences may not be grounded in sanity.

Beautiful! Interesting thread. Thanks for posting.

Kind regards,

Jos

Thanks for the complements everyone!

I am VERY pleased with the way this knife came out.

I didn't get very many shots of the sheath in progress. Here are the pictures of what I did take.

That's an alligator insert in the sheath.

This is a detail picture I had Caleb take today. I think he really did a great job. Thanks Caleb.

And here is the finished knife picture again so you won't have to go back to the other page to see it.

This whole package is masterful in every way. Even the documentation.

The ability to change guards and the ease of the availability for the provided tool add the needed credibility to the endeavor. Super!

Caleb's photos are always clear. Kyle and I talked, and I will be hard pressed to improve Caleb's work.

Congrats all around.

Outstanding. It's just amazing to see something this nice come together.

Thanks for sharing a view of the work involved.

What Coop said! Stunning in EVERY way.

That mammoth is amazing as is every component of the knife AND the sheath is exquisite as well.

Thanks for posting it Kyle.

真是非常棒的製作過程及漂亮的刀子.

Outstanding in every way from the knife to the pics to the sheath and this wole work in progress thread

Thanks

Kevin congrats on a real gem

I'm just flabbergasted. Makes me want to turn from bushbum simple user to a collector. Wow - you opened my eyes with this thread. I'm afraid to shut them - I might just end up dreaming of this blade. Just wonderful!

super looking package.

But you forgot one thing. The pic of the knife in the sheath! can't be for forgetting that one!

Kevins probably gonna cut himself when he gets this. Or just roll around with it for a while.

Kyle, This knife and the process from points A to Z has been an amazing journey. I thank you sir for seeing first hand the work it took to achieve a piece of functional ARTof this caliber.
Frankly it's stunning. Congratulations!!!

Thanks Joe.

I will do my best to be careful Jon. :D

Love the sheath Kyle. The "fin" on the gator adds a degree of uniqueness. Hard to believe you have only been making sheaths a little over a year. Great job.

With each knife that Kyle posts I am increasingly impressed - it is incredible to see this level of artistry and skill being delivered from a knife maker who is still in the very early stages of their career and development - and mind boggling to think what he will be turning out in a few years time at this rate: A God given talent for sure.

Stunning!!! Looks fantastic in both iterations. My problem would be deciding which guard to keep on at any given time. I'd almost need 2 like knives so I could show them side by side like in the photo!

The sheath is really cool with the fin and tool pocket, nice details all around. Caleb, your pics are great! Wish I could take shots of my knives the way you are producing pictures now!!!

This knife came together sooooooo well. Every aspect of it draws the eye and the attention of the observer. Super congratulations for adding this to your collection Kevin and for crossing yet another threshold in your creativity Kyle. I'm extremely psyched for both of you

Hi Rob.
I will display the knife with the ring guard installed, however serious considering having a wood display box made so I can display the bowie, sheath, take-down tool and spare clamshell guard all together.

let's hear it for the gold pin!:D
