Thank you for bumping this. Can't believe I missed it. I laughed at the "blah blah blah" of Cliff so hard that I had to explain myself to my wife.

huh? .... wait... what?

Anyone else find it a little eerie that this post talked about bringing a knife onto an airplane 4 days before 9/11?

ho-hum... ho-hum...

Seriously CM? C'mon man, you know better than to post that here. I won't even quote it in the hopes that you'll just delete the post.

Herb treated steel. I like it, Mon. I have a Rostfrei switchblade (German of course) that I think is a fair blade. But then again, it didn't cost much 20 years ago.

Uh oh. Looks like Rosta-Frei may have some competition. Google "PM-V11 steel."

They don't say what its composition is, do they? Veritas is a very respected manufacturer of woodworking hand tools, and they innovate in their field much as Spyderco innovates in the knife world. Veritas' founder is Leonard Lee, who has written an excellent book on sharpening. Given all this I won't rush to judgement on their PM-V11 steel, but would like to learn its composition and who makes it. Veritas is not a foundry operation, and they are based in Canada.

Bill, I wasn't knocking the steel. It looks good at first glance actually. I just wanted an excuse to bump the Rosta-Frei thread, now going on its eleventh year. :p

Yarp.

That is all. :D

Edited to add, I have a rosta-frei knife and it rusted; now what do I do?....
