I hear Rosta-frei blades are heated to Rc 420...
They don't say what its composition is, do they? Veritas is a very respected manufacturer of woodworking hand tools, and they innovate in their field much as Spyderco innovates in the knife world. Veritas' founder is Leonard Lee, who has written an excellent book on sharpening. Given all this I won't rush to judgement on their PM-V11 steel, but would like to learn its composition and who makes it. Veritas is not a foundry operation, and they are based in Canada.Uh oh. Looks like Rosta-Frei may have some competition. Google "PM-V11 steel."
