Rough Rider & Related Slipjoints

Does anyone know where I can find information on RR production models and dates they were made? I've stumbled on to a RR502 Tortoise Barlow which doesn't seem to be in production anymore, and I'm trying to find out more information on it i.e. when made. Same thing for an older (i'm guessing) RR201 rough jigged amber bone Barlow with no bolster stamp.

Don't know if this will help or not, but an acquaintance of mine has written extensively about RR. He doesn't have all their models listed, but his contact info is included on one of the pages, so you could possibly contact him; he knows more about RR than anyone else that I know. Good luck: http://blindkat.hegewisch.net/RRR/

Did a video this weekend with first impressions of my first couple Rough Riders. Check it out!

An RR1290 "acorn trapper" meant to be a companion piece to the knife which will become my keeper dogbone jack with acorn shield (with any luck). Beautiful smooth bone, good F&F, and that cartoonish yet endearing RR acorn shield. This is a big, solid, pretty knife.

I still haven't been able to get the master out with using an opener, but I have only begun to fight! :D

4 new Rough Riders, a Parker, and my old Case, on the far left, just really been into Rough Riders of late.

Very nice matching set of RR bone knives. That jigging and color grows on me by the day. Is that one-armed Barlow on the right the Parker? Nice collection of slippies, thanks for sharing and welcome to the porch!

I picked up this Barlow the other day. The quality of manufacture puts most of my more expensive knives to shame

I agree that the quality is as good or better than some of my higher priced knives. Some people don't want to hear that. But it is what it is. Here is a $15 Boker I picked up yesterday along side my $8 RR Barlow. I think they are both very nice for the money. The Boker has a little weaker pull Than I like and the FF is not as good as the Barlow. I gotta get me one of those jigged bone too Jack.

Nice Boker GM. The Rough Rider knives cost more than twice as much here in the UK, but are still incredible value I think

I've that RR barlow (love it, well made); also have a Boker Plus Tech Tool City One - possibly one of the sharpest knives out of the box I've ever seen. Is yours a Boker Plus?

It is a Boker Plus. It looked out of place beside all the cheaply made flea market knives. The guy usually has Rough Riders but this week he had none..

Sign me up for the RR fan club. Picked up 3 this weekend and love them! Glad to see there is a whole thread on them here!
