Round up those Cattle Knives!!

Found yet another one, a four bladed Camillus made for Sears, High Carbon Steel USA. Minor cleanup, lube and sharpening were all that was needed and I let it bite me! Worth a little bloodshed for this

Very fine item indeed :cool: Just the right amount of restoration on this, I'm not of the Rusting Wrecks school of thought, beautiful steel & bone and satisfying to carry. That's what It's all about!

Wow these cattle knives are something, I like that the size allows the bone to shine.as they say,these are work knives.it become my favorite thread to follow.
 
Oldy Oldy I agree, I love Cattle Knives, I started gathering them up but had to try and focus on other areas- that focus hasnt quite worked out, but I am better.

I still pick up quite a lot of Cattles within the Sears and Roebuck Family.

They have become my favorite pattern as well. Lots of variety, four blades, three blades, junior size, punches, pen blades or speys, many types of bone, plain and grooved bolster, brass or nickel silver liners, standard or long pulls, different types of swedges, etc.

I'd love to have a Case 6394 1/2 but wowsers $$. They are gorgeous though.

On the opposite end of the size scale, here is a Syracuse Junior Cattle knife!!
At 3 1/4" is was such a nicely made piece, I had a well known knifemaker rehandle it, for a more worthy than plastic handle - some nice Stag!!Syracuse Eric Re 4.jpgSyracuse Eric Re 5.jpg
It has a few specks, but I asked him not to polish it!! Scars are part of that old knife from the 1930s (according to Levine!!)!!!
