rr cutlery. you agreed to do a passaround. would you mind if bones sent me that knife to sharpen up and test? then i can send it to someone else to check out.

My Kingdom for an "Eats Popcorn" emoticon! Call me childish but this is some quality entertainment! This thread has it all, international intrigue, brain surgery, thinly veiled racism, almost ban-hammering,probable fraud, witch hunts..WOW! And i thought my day off would be boring, but just this one episode of "As The Grinding Wheel Turns"... ;)

If Ya'll Want a Passaround I Would Like To Send A Knife To KELAMA . He Will Get The Knife Then Test Out , See The Quality And Show Anyone He Want To And Share HEre About His Experience . Are Ya'll Ready ?

CC: That would be really cool! I would be happy to set some of my high end carpentry tools aside and, & see what your knives are made of; so please make sure that you choose a knife that is extra sharp, & might be best suited for wood butchery. I will gladly pass it along to the next member who would like to check it out...it might take me 5 or 6 days for me to ship it out, so all that I ask, is that other members exercise a little patience, please.

I sincerely hope that your wife is doing well; I will keep your family in my prayers. It's too bad, that you have had to spend so much of your precious time, defending your livelihood, instead to where it matters most...with your family.

I need to get out the door...I'll send you PM later.

Yeah lets send a different knife ,Really gets to the point,Theres one already here in the states Bones would send you it im sure KELAMA

If some type of passaround is in the making, please create a separate thread, also I've sat here on the side and tried to be objective, that includes the previous threads in regards to your knives and who makes them.

I'm not here to judge but I'd like to evaluate your knife, in not a metallurgist or a scientist but what I am is a 53 year old knife user who has used all kinds of knives from inexpensive to higher end production and custom blades for work and play and would give an honest review.

These people here are giving you RR Cutlery an opportunity to prove yourself, I understand how you feel you don't have to prove anything your website and customer testimonials should be enough. Unfortunately that's not the reality here but you do have an enormous opportunity to get a huge amount of positive commentary, if your knives are good these folks here will say so. They're not too proud to admit they made a mistake,( most of them at least;) ) so in my opinion you've got nothing to lose and the possibility of having everyone following this thread purchase your knives and make you the new maker to watch.

I would seriously consider having Richard, (richard j.) sharpen one of and test one of your knives, you have some really good people who's opinions are highly regarded by many on the forum here offering their time to help you validate your claims.

Again take advantage of the offers if what you say is true about your product you have nothing to lose and everything to gain and if you don't, expect to spend a lot of time typing and responding to negative comments against you.

As far as the op goes I agree with the others, pay up or send back the knife unless he agrees to have it sent either on a passaround or to Richard.

As far as who makes your knives, IIRC there's either, a previous thread on this subject or if not there should be one and that's the place to discuss those issues.

I really look forward to seeing how you handle this RR Cutlery don't blow an opportunity to be cleared of false accusations, if that's what they are.

Certain traits may shock newcomers, like calling out "coward vileness" without naming anyone -- which is tarring with a very broad brush. If you think it's wrong in others, why do it yourself?

Oh, I have no problem naming names. The only reason I didn´t is because I thought it was really, really obvious.

bones555 is calling this guy "a POS" and "a thief" because the knife he bought arrived one day late. Also, some people say, without much evidence, that the steel he uses may not be 1085.

I am very aware of the general quality of Pakistani cutlery and I have no interest in RR-Cutlery´s work, whose style of knives I find ridiculously gaudy. This is not the point.

His work is being described as "junk" (darrin sanders, cooper669), and "crap" he peddles (TOMBSTONE) by users which have never handled his knives. Other major offenses seem to be that his setup resembles "a mud hut in a third world country" (cooper669) and that "the towel around his head is wrapped a little too tight" (darrin sanders). Sorry to be a party pooper boys, but these are coward insults. I mean, how can you defend yourself from something like that?

To round it all up, Morrow finally shows up to say people should avoid comments that could be seen as bigotry and racism. Come on Morrow, I love you man, but I mean, you know, really?:biggrin::biggrin:

Oh well. Just another day in bladeforums.

My payment through PP was made to Pakistan, I bought a knife. It was and is an awful waste of materials,it was not shaving sharp out of the box, it did not pass a rope cutting test, it has nice file work, it was mailed out of Boise, Id. It makes a good display piece, that's it, I would not use it every day as I would need to sharpen more then I could cut. I am a customer and I am not happy with the product, how are you going to fix this R@R. Martin

I based my assessment of his "junk" on this evaluation. I know Martin to be a reputable person and have no reason to believe that he would lie about the quality of this guys work. If y'all wanna defend this guy and berate reputable makers and collectors thats your perogative. Its my perogative to take Martin at his word and call this like I see it.

I've got no dog in this fight, but i did but an eBay "hand made" Damascus knife that was a total piece of garbage. I don't think anyone is defending the quality of his work here. I think they are saying take the high road in your comments. It may be junk, but until that is proven it's libelous to state so. I am doubtful anyone will be taken to court, but the anonymity of the internet has created a race of keyboard warriors who are quick to say things behind the safety of their computer that they would never say in a public setting. Second, their is no excuse for the racism, zip, zero, zilch, nada. What if he was a white guy from Georgia doing the same thing? Would the "towel on his head be wound too tight" as well? Stop showing your @$$ and you won't have to apologize later or explain your remarks. If you are a flaming racist, great, keep it to yourself. It's 2014. That behavior is no longer considered acceptable for anyone.

I've read every post on this thread and will ignore most of what was said.

Concerning a "pass around", Why not use Bones' knife since it is already in the US? RichardJ has offered to sharpen it up, he has nothing to gain by giving a positive or negative review.

No one has anything to lose if the knife that is here is fairly and objectively sharpened, used, evaluated, and tested.

Just throwing out what I believe to be an objective opinion.

Well the knife I purchased from RR is on its way to Richard for rc test and ? It will no longer be my opinion but facts.

And at that point you will have evidence to back up your claims, or not. I have my opinion of the outcome, but i will reserve it as it's not important to the issue at hand.

There are several aspects going on here.

The original point of the post has morphed into others.
1. Was in poor taste to call out RR as a theif and liar when the knife was only a day or two late from it's estimated delivery.
2. Quality - That can be argued - anyone with sense knows. Several here have one of RR's knives and they confirm they are junk.
3. In come the politically correct. Some people said some things - mud hut, third world ...............yes, in fact you can see on his own website. Different people
making knives on mud floors, no shoes, no safety equipment. Ah, hello. Some of the other stuff - bad joke - maybe. Are those members racist, not likely.

4. Why is this guy selling in the knifemakers forum? "for blade smiths and custom knife makers to sell their work". He's been doing it for months.
Why does he have a knife maker's membership? He IS a wholesaler of Pakistan semi production knives.
You have to be brain dead to even give him the benefit of the doubt. He says he makes them all himself in the USA. That is not the truth
and hence he has represented himself and his product falsely. He may not be everything some have said, but he certainly is not most of what
HE says HE is. Yes, his presence in the maker's forum does degrade this site and fine makers that are here. Move him somewhere else.

Good. Bones' knife, your knife, shouldn't make a difference.

Stay tuned for the next installment of, "As the Sharpener's Wheel Turns", followed by, "The Dullness of our Knives".

Great post, thank you.

We have a cut and dry answer for this now, still see him making new posts in the Custom Makers section with an orange Knifemakers title. All of his posts should be moved to the dealers section pending his upgrade or removed completely until he upgrades to be fair?

RR-Cutlery is a dealer and it was already addressed that he will either upgrade his membership or not be a member here anymore. End of discussion. No further mentioning whether his dealer or not a maker.

He has made no objection to upgrading to dealer.
