I'm curious... how did you put the mirror finish on the 112?

Nice job on the scales... I'm sure your brother likes it!

Sounds like Bucksway has it tough... 'course I can't complain too much it was 80F and sunny yesterday :)

Interesting process Dave -- came out very nice!

I sure wish Razor would report in that he got the Rubber Bucky...its starting to bother me. Its been 2 weeks in the mail.:grumpy:

GOT IT !!!!!!!15 minutes ago i opened the box and so far I will tell you if Buck isn;t interested in making one of these,I'm gonna beg Dave to re-handle one for me,the grip on this knife is awesome!Lets hope the gang gets some deer tomorrow so i can see exactly how good the ol 440c rubber bucky warrior can stand up to some Canadian whitetails.

I must say,its a very well put together knife, love the blade on it as well.

I will be gone tomorrow ,but be back sunday after i've used this baby awhile n see what she can do!

thanks for the passaround Dave, great knife to use for it!

i have decided that i am going to do one for pass around in the larger pass around thread of BF to have some non buck nuts try it out ...
you know it is easy to preach to believers ...
it is the non buck nuts that buck would want to hear from on this..

as to any one that really wants one...
these are not a work of art knife!!!! they are a rough work knife!
i make mistakes and some times a hair off on fit at the edges...

so if you can live with this
yes i will make 1 or 2 more for the practice of making them..
this would not include polishing the blade!
i will finish the brass to a decent luster (not show polished) and attempt to get minor flaws out .. either a 112 or 110...
you would need to send me a knife, and a set of Buck alpha scales and
shipping money to get it back.. my time doing this is free.. but you should
also send 5 to 10$ for work stuff consumables like epoxy, compound, sand paper and
ugh.. some home made "cleaner" i use to get the 'dust' out.. of the knife..

And if you are going to send this rubber bucky to a GI in the war..
email me...

Hey Razor,

Take that lanyard off or change it if you want. The more I thought about it the more 4 or 5 wraps seemed right instead of wrapping all the way back up to the knife. You'ze guys call of course.

...you would need to send me a knife, and a set of Buck alpha scales...

Dave, have you thought or using horse mat, rather than the Alpha scales? You could put the holes where you want them, or have none at all......

YES my friend.. i really did consider other rubber materials...
i chose the alpha scales for ONLY one reason..
to keep it 100% Buck.

believe you me it would have been much easer to use horse mat
or even Firestone ... any one can change out the scales and the threaded screws are not that necessary to holding the scales on...
and it was hard at first to make the alpha scales fit and i messed up two 10$ sets getting it right!
but have gotten things down to were it is not such a big deal and is jest a fraction of the time involved...
and like i said it is still 100 % buck knife..
which is important to me for some odd reason...
and the offer stands.. i will make two more for forum members .. but

well i want to share some thing ...
word got to me that some GI's dont have a good knife!!

IF some one wants to send a buck knife to a GI in Afghanistan i have a friend there that knows some guys that dont have a GOOD knife ...
remember these guys got famley at home and money is tight for them also!

so if you want to send a normal buck knife or a rubber bucky to the sand box i will relay it or do the work for free!

Dave, That's a great gesture, your getting knives to the GIs. I don't have a 110 to donate by I do have a lot of horse mat. If you change your "Purist" ways and want to make a Bucky with other than the Alpha scales you're welcome to some of the mat.

So far i've used the rubber bucky to make some meals at camp, nobody got a buck yet ,so no testing there as of yet,I also cleaned some ducks with it ,the rubber handles are a good idea, they grip well.I cut a fair amount of rope making treestands and haen't touched up the 440 c as of yet.I will be ready to mail this to the next lucky participant by friday,so i'm gonna need an address, thanks again it needs to be a buck production knife i'd say!

I don't know who's next, but when my turn comes my addess is: Jack Rudder, 115 Alamosa Ave, Alamosa, CO 81101

Jack

i think tin sue was next,
i sent him an email and have not heard back as yet,,
come to think of it has any one heard from him lately?
... he may be hunting some place .. :)
in which case it could take him a bit to walk it..
hear tell he only has a small place to hunt in Texas
some thing like only hundred sq miles or so..
tin if ya is still there..
let us know that every thing is alright in your world.. ;)
so if we dont hear from him by friday i guess Jack is next ..:)

I'm back! Deer season opened yesterday, so I spent most of last week at the camp. Having already used my old 110 yesterday, I guess I can pass on the rubber bucky for a few weeks, so let's let Razorblades send it on to Rudderjt, especially since he posted his address, and then Jack can send it on to me when he's finished. Gotta get back to cutting up venison to get it in the refrigerator before nightfall.
