Rubber Bucky will make the rounds again!

In all fairness, it was Dave's original "generous gesture" of putting together knives for the GI's that started the madness..... Any taker's on your offer Dave?

Have fun with it guys, let us know how they come out, with pics pls.....:)

fun is what it is all about!!!

One is for the sand box, the other to be rescaled and sent back to me...

It is a fine thing you are doing for our GI's.

Dave,

I've got 2 of the horse mat slabs in the mail to you as of this morning. Let me/Mike know what you think of them.

Mike,

I picked up a older, lightly used 110 last night on the bay. Since, I dont want to be inhibited about using my take on the Rubber Bucky by having a new blade. So I'll be starting that project next Saturday...if it gets here. If you like the way it turns out, start rounding up a 110 and send it to me and I'll do one for you too. After all its your mat:D:D:D

Thanks for the kind offer FL. Last week I gave my brother the only 110 user I have. He found himself without a knife, felt nekkid'.... I tried to give him a Stryder/Tarani 882 and he turned his nose up at it. He was more than happy to put the 110 on his belt though. OK, the search is on for another 110 user.

I've given my three boys 110 users plus I gave another tin boxed Christmas 110 to Iceman's boy - it's a good feeling to that.

I see nice users at the gun and knife shows and then there is the Custom Shop for something special. I love my new G-10 BG-42 and am getting it broken in. It is quite stiff - I get a lot of positive comments when folks see it in my new JR sheath.

have been sick as a dogonly out of bed about 6 of 24.. ... migraines ect.. hurts to look at computer screen..
yes i got the slabs..neat material... this will be next week at the soonest
wandering if glue alone will hold this and unlike alpha grips there is no hard materal for glue to grip..
will be fun to try!

Dave, Hope you're feeling better. I did a test with three types of glue on the rubber mat last night. I sanded a sheet of brass with 100 grit, wiped down with acetone, and glued three scraps of the rubber down. Used Devcon epoxy 2-ton; Polyurethane (Gorilla Glue); and Rubberized CA (Super Glue).

I peeled them off the brass this morning and the epoxy held the best. Was quite difficult to remove the rubber and it actually left a little rubber on the brass..... Hope this helps.

yes ! i will use the two part i use on RB
BTW: feeling better up to 50/50
doc has no idea what caused it..
lost 10 lb in one week
so there was one up side to it but i dont recommend it

The Rubber Bucky has made it to my house. First impression, it's a little thin in the handle. I do carry a finger grooved model, but this one is a might on the slim side. I'll give her a workout, though, and see how I feel after a week or so. Who get's it next? Someone get me an address.

The sheath looks pretty good for the number of miles it's traveled since the last time it was here.

yes i agree it is thin..!!!
almost did not send it around ..
how it happened...( for the other tinker'ers out there)
in trying to "match" the deeper finger groves of a new 110
i did not take in to account how much thinner the old frame was!
should have been more shallow .. once the first was cut was done.. ?
yes give that 440C a work out..!!
i think you will like it!

Yep it was thin for sure,i have a real set of baseball mitts for hands and had no problems hangin' on er' ,though some might not like the grip.Hope she holds up until buck decides to make one.lol

if buck dont do it then there is a high likely hood you could get either
horse bucky or a rubber bucky directly from the buck nuts what make them!
that thin one i did will be the prize in the sales constest starting right after i get back from taking the wife to her sisters for thanksgiving ...;)

The Rubber Buck is on it's way to College Station, Texas. I wasn't able to give it a really wet, sloppy, sticky, dirty usage, but it does work well for the things I use a knife for on a day to day basis. I touched up the blade a bit on my butcher's steel. Takes a good edge. The rubber scales do have a nice secure feel to them and I'm sure they would work well in a sloppy situation. It's worked a bit thin for my liking, but I know this is a hand made, custom, prototype, so that can be worked out. I do like finger-grooves. Leather sheath was a bit dry, so I dressed it with some Black Rock. I like the used feel it has. That's the way leather is supposed to feel. This skinny Buck is a little sloppy in the sheath, but it still fits a standard very nicely.

Thanks, Dave, for your efforts and I'm glad to see it "goin' down the road"!

i enjoy sending them around...
this one gives every one a chance to try out the

CJ has already said he will judge this one again!
