Thoughts on the Rule#9

Initial impression was (What am I going doing with a bushcrafters knife)

After handling some, I compared it to my EK and thought "Hmmm, maybe its a combat weapon"

Used it around the kitchen, would prefer a chef pattern knife in this blade size for general kitchen use, but it performed fine for most cutting and chopping chores.

A bit too long for me for paring! to stiff for filleting, good tomato and onion slicer. Ok on the chopping and dicing tasks.

Around the tackle shop found it a bit big for belt carry but did a dandy chop turning large shad into chunk cut bait.

I like the feel in the hand, the micarta could be another 1/4-1/2 long, to be picky.

The pommel end is the nuts for opening paint cans!

Final thoughts:
A-My face hurts from shaving with the Rule #9 XL (stropped the hell out of it first), took some doing and some blood but I got most of that 5 day beard off! Left the mustache area and final touches to a Gillette. The light weight and balance of the knife made this easier than I thought it would.
B- I think that Kephart would have thought this to be the perfect knife if he had been tossed into combat or if he had been 100 years earlier and worried about the natives. This knife would be a consideration by me as a combat theatre knife, the balance, weight and general usefulness of this knife would have me leaving my Ka-bar at home in favor of this Rule #9 XXL, it really does seem as if could have been the lost Ek model.
C- Feel free to edit my crummy pics

To whom do I send The knife to next?
If there is no reply,;) I'll just keep it if that is alright?

That is really saying something.

Thanks for playing!
I think I'm next on the list. PM on the way.

Mack,
Thanks for designing such a great knife and letting us have a chance to use it. I would second, third and fourth this statement.

Thanks to Mack for sponsoring another passaround! I enjoyed my time with the blade, and I just wish there had been more response to the posted reviews.

Another great Mack/JK collaboration knife!

Thanks to all of you for joining in. I've enjoyed getting to see this being used.
Yeah, I wish it had drawn more attention too. I don't know how to change that. It will be going with me to the Beckerhead gathering in a couple of weeks. We'll see how they like it.

Wish I had still had it here last night when I was carving up an 18# ham.....

Mmmmmm, 18# ham sounds good. I'd love to grill one up right now.

it was pretty good.
almost as good as the corned beef I smoked last night!

We eagerly await your impression.

What? You think I'm going to use it?

no, we think Karen will claim it as a boning/utility slicer before you get home.

I just checked tracking for USPS and see that the knife is still undelivered? In limbo some place?
Here is the tracking number 9405509699939833806919
Was mailed on the 5th.
I dunno?
