Well,it's been three weeks since the package was last SCANNED. Why could they not have lost one of the cheaper fishing reels I ship out daily.
Who files the claim for the $50 insurance? Shipper or shipee? Probably me I suppose. I'll give it the 30 days and then I'll officially contract John to make a new knife for Mack. At least it will be available for hunting season.
The missing box was well taped and the knife was rolled up in a vinyl Penn Fishing banner, undetactable even if you opened the Box fully, so I doubt that theft is the issue here. The only thing else in the box was a new Penn Visor for Mack to shade his pirate eye. I wish this had not happened, but... sigh.
My confidence for the knife to show up is low. I actually did have a knife get returned to me about 6 years ago that I had shipped to Italy. It was a custom shop Buck dagger and Italian Customs held it up for months and then finally returned it to the US because it could "not be proved to have never harmed anybody" (it was new and in he original box?) That whole fiasco took about 6 months start to finish. I had a Fin Nor reel that I sent to Cape Coral, Florida take about two weeks because it went first to Guam, and then to Hawaii and finally back to the CONUS and eventually to Florida. however, tracking continued to follow it on it's journey.
Well, if the original comes back to roost someday after it's replacement has been made, I'm sure there are many of us who had the pleasure of sampling it's goodness on the Bassaround who would love to buy it.
I had it last, so I'll take responsibility for the loss.
